Story

As You Like it Hair Gallery is a "Schwarzkopf Professional" Salon. This means we stock the brands Colour Ranges (permanent, semi-permanent, colour refresher mousses, etc), Shampoos, Conditioners and Treatments and Professional and Retail Styling and Finishing Products. We also branch out with a few other Professional brands such as GHD, A.S.P Colour Dynamics, Goldwell Elumen, and Revlon.
Our focus is on creating an individual look and style for each client, whether it is to suit your lifestyle or for a particular event; like a wedding or special occasion.

You can sit back with a Latte or glass of Champagne and will not be rushed. Marcia and Her Team will spend the time with you to work out exactly what you want and discuss the best way to achieve it. You can also wander around and view the latest Art Exhibition and Artwork that is consistently displayed in the Salon.

Marcia has been doing my hair since I moved to Cairns 7 years ago. Often I just tell her to do what she feels like as she knows me so well and I like to put her creative flair and knowledge to good use ;-) But for my wedding I knew exactly the colour and style I wanted so I took her some pics and she understood straight away what I was after and how to adapt it to suit me. I still can't believe how beautiful we all looked on the day; myself, my 2 bridesmaids and my mum and my partner's mum all looked absolutely stunning and the hairstyles suited our outfits and the tone of the wedding perfectly. I can't thank Marcia enough, we had the most amazing day and getting ready was so relaxing and enjoyable as we all knew we were in very safe hands :-) I highly recommend her and her staff for not just cutting and colouring but also for creative styles and special occasions. My wedding day wouldn't have been the same without Marcia!

This is a gem of a place. A lovely location, amazing staff and the kind of detailed service you'd expect from professional hairdressers. The cuts are really wonderful- contemporary and clever. As theatrical as you like, as subtle as you like, just as the name says: as *you* like it.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in Cairns. After waiting 40 minutes and having had my appointment overbooked by another client I walked out of the salon - there was no communication that my appointment was overbooked or apology for being late. In fact there was no communication from my hairdresser/owner at all, I was left to sit there for 40 minutes wondering what was going on. I provided common courtesy and emailed the owner immediately stating I was unhappy with the service and that I would not be returning. I was then provided many harassing phone calls to return and even an invoice to pay $358.00 for services "abandoned", some of which I had not even asked for. I then placed a review on facebook stating the customer service was poor to which I received this reply: As You Like It Hair Gallery "Ms Saunders Brown Unfortunately is Unstable and has not had the chance to experience our Brilliant Customer service due to her lack of common decency and appaulling [appalling] behaviour." This is simply an extension of the terrible customer service this business has given me. I wont be paying for any part of the appointment and services that were in fact not provided at all, and find this treatment of customers absolutely disgusting - as will others reading this review. I know I did the right thing walking out when my appointment was dishonoured and I was treated poorly. Im very happy I did not pay a cent to this establishment and encourage others not to accept poor service from businesses. In the end the customer is always right.
