We’ve driven through Ararat many times, but on this trip we decided to stay overnight and look for a good meal. We’re so glad we found the Ararat RSL Club — what an amazing place.nThe roast beef is no ordinary meal. The portion was huge, beautifully cooked, incredibly fresh, and absolutely delicious. The vegetables were freshly cooked and full of flavour. We also ordered the special cheese and bacon bread, which was made in-house — soft, fluffy, fresh, and a standout on its own.nMy wife had a Caesar salad with prawns, and everything was freshly prepared. The prawns were cooked to order and made spicy just as she requested. We also shared a pumpkin soup, and there was easily enough in one bowl for both of us.nAfter dinner, we were so full and comfortable that we decided to stay for quiz night, which they run every Monday around 7:00–7:30 pm. There were around 30–40 people, great prizes, and a really fun, relaxed atmosphere. We even won a free drink.nA special mention must go to the staff. From the concierge on arrival — who seated us, explained how the club works, and was incredibly knowledgeable and polite — to the waiter who took our order using an iPad and clearly knew the menu inside out. When he said the food was good, he wasn’t joking. These 2 men are absolutely brilliant at their jobs and are the nicest guys you'll ever meet.nRSL clubs have a long tradition of being great value for money, but this one is genuinely one of the best we’ve experienced. Outstanding food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.nWe will definitely be back.

Shayne served us last night and he was fabulous at explaining all the dishes. Two of the four group party enjoyed the barramundi, another the steak and I had a small serve of prawn linguini . We were all super impressed with the food and the service from Shayne.Thanks mate! You’re a legend
