good design very bad quality control on their products, I went into the store for correct sizing looking at the deco black sneaker. every shoe they had the sole was ripping away from the upper and you could see big patches of glue on the from where the sole was cemented to the leather some more then others, less noticeably they had black dye stains and run off all over the white parts of the sneaker sole, leather liner when I mentioned it to the staff they said that this is normal and I should expect the dye stains and if I didn't like how the sole looked i should go to a cobbler to re-glue it.
Really disappointed with their work shoes. I bought a pair on sale and the fit is perfect but they are so uncomfortable. I’m hobbling around work with two huge blisters on my heel. Never had this with any other shoes. Friends have told me they have had a similar experience. Such a shame when their casual shoes are much better.
I have bought Aquila Shoes for a long time, but my experience a couple of weeks ago at the Canberra City branch has put me off for life. The sole of a pair of black dress shoes I purchased started to come off within days of wearing them. A quick look online showed that this is not uncommon for Aquila products a brand I used to think specialised in good quality shoes?. When I took them back into the store the clerk accused me of damaging them myself and refused to refund the purchase. I ended up taking the shoes to a "Mister Minute" who fixed the soles, but also shunned the quality of the shoe. I struggle to see how I would have damaged the sole of both shoes within a couple of days of purchase. I'd recommend avoiding this outlet for their bad service & the Aquila brand for their subpar products.
Just bought 2 pairs of shoes today. Victoria was a great help. Very friendly and offers good feedback. Highly recommend this store at Canberra Centre.
Arrived in Canberra from the long drive from Sydney for a job interview the next morning. To my horror I had forgotten my interview suit! My partner and I looked around several men's clothing stores in Canberra centre and were most impressed by the service offered by Brad at Aquila. He was extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his job. Brad help me put together a suit at the last minute and even organized for trouser tailoring shortly before closing time. Brad set an exemplary standard for customer service and is an excellent representative for this brand. I just wanted to say thanks and that yes - the interview the next day went very well thanks to Brad's help!
Amazing experience with Canberra City's Aquila, Riley was such a nice dude. Knew his products well, and wasn't the type of retail worker that nags you to the point where you get annoyed. He makes very good suggestions on what to buy and I'll be more than happy to shop more with Aquila so long as they keep this amazing service.
Good comfortable shoes but tend to start falling apart after only a few months of wear which is disappointing considering the price. Very frustrating online experience where items in store are not yet online despite having been released. Stupid online vs instore gift cards which are non-transferable. Also needed to call customer service 3 times to get my gift card activated as it did not work upon receiving it. Overall very frustrating experience.
Okay quality shoe.. I decided to pay quite a bit because it was my first job and I wanted to make a good 1st impression, but the sole has already started to come off. I will admit the shoes look pretty good though. This european woman who worked there said she would "cut me a deal" and then charged me more than what was advertised on the official Aquilla website, pretty rough. She also "cut the cheese" as I left which was funny but gross
Pretty disappointed with Aquila's approach to customer service. My beautiful, top of the line Osbourne boots - several years old - kept giving me blisters, but only on one foot. I thought I just needed to wear them more to soften the leather. Eventually I worked out it's because the rear seam was incorrectly sewn in the factory on that one, and had a lump in the seam. Shoe repair guy said it was fixable. I asked Aquila if they would cover the repair cost, given that the fault was always there - it just look me a while to work it out. It's not like it was a fault that developed over time. Regional manager said I was too slow, 'Buy a new pair, we'll give you a 30% discount'. So make sure you check the inside of your Aquila boots carefully before you leave the store. Or just buy elsewhere - there's no way R.M Williams would fob you off like that when you buy a pair of their boots.
Of the three pairs of leather dress shoes that my partner and I have bought from here, all three have had the soles come off within twelve months. That's just unacceptable for shoes above $200.
