As a ANZ customer for the past 18 years I am absolutely disgusted with this bank! I tried to make a money order and was told it would be organised within 24-48 hours, One week later I ended up going into the branch asking for the manager because I did not hear anything from the bank and still could not have a face to face conversation with her regarding my issue. Why have a manager at the branch when they can’t even be spoken to? Due to the amount of money I was asking for I was made to feel like I’m doing something dodgy and like “MY” money wasn’t even mine by the people who work at the front. ANZ you need to realise the money people have in their bank accounts is theirs and they are entitled to it! I have opened accounts with another bank and will be transferring all my funds out and moving them to the other bank. Your 1.7 star reviews paint a very clear picture.
Every time I visit this branch first of they never have enough staff to serve the customers and then their ATMs don’t operate as expected. This is just ridiculous they way ANZ run this branch. If they so eager to automate the stuff make it right otherwise put more tellers so that people don’t have to waste their time standing in the queue for nothing.
Bad customer service. Booked appointment and drove all the way just to find out branch was closed, no communication or email. I had to rebook the following week. After waiting for long queue at watergardens branch, guy who assisted seems irritated when I was asking questions about my new account and just want to get everything done super quick. Ended up not getting everything sorted and I will need to contact support have to deal with call queue with other queries as guy was unhelpful, terrible service.
I have needed to cancel my accounts at ANZ for 2 reasons: First, the shockingly low interest rates for my larger superannuation term deposit .3% for 12 months deposit, well below inflationand secondly, very poor customer service. The queues are often 20+ people waiting in line with only one cashier on duty. The other 7 staff are sitting at their desks, not snowed under like the poor unfortunate sole cashier, trying to placate annoyed customers. Whoever has organised this fiasco is probably someone high up the ladder in the ANZ, who has had no experience at all on the front line. We cannot use online services all the time...and some of us really need to see someone immediately they enter the bank, without having to make an appointment. The last time I went to the bank, a unfortunate frail elderly woman asked a staff member to help her activate her new bank card, which wasn't working. She needed it to withdraw some needed money. The staff member replied to her that she couldn't be helped today, because all the appointments were booked out...She would have to come back another day....and that they were closing at 3.00PM. The staff member who helped me with closing my bank account, and transferring the money to another bank was helpful and competent. It was obvious that her particular job was overloaded. She said to me that she hoped that I would return to the ANZ back...I don't think so: such ridiculously low interest rates of .3% for 12 months deposit term rates are a humiliation to me...as well as the poor customer service.
The Watergardens Branch always lacks of staff and lacks of service, but never lacks of rudeness. Looks like ANZ bank Watergardens branch empowers staff to be super rude to customers. The moment you come through the door for service, and without asking the purpose of your visit they ask if you have an appointment. If you don’t, they ask you to make one and then come back. Upon me asking to see a manager today after been asked to come back when I have made an appointment, the staff member ordered me to “wait” in very rude and demeaning way. I’ve never felt so humiliated in my entire life. This was my fourth consecutive bad encounter at this branch. I had reported the lack of service coupled with staff and management rudeness to head office which apologised for the bad service and promised they will address the issue. Yet again here we go today. Watergardens branch staff are putting all the pressure on the call center which takes a long time to answer calls anyways. Watergardens branch are better off closing their doors and putting a note: “ATM when available only. Service by appointment cause our customers don’t deserve any better. “
I've been served by the branch manager and it was a nightmare experience. Went for a simple account opening and after waiting for over an hour and a half, her first question was if I had an appointment or not?!!!! . Of course, I wasn't going to to leave without opening the account after waiting all this time and I insisted on getting the task done. After looking into my profile and despite the fact that I have no current account opened with ANZ, she threatened me to report a fraud simply coz my phone number wasn't updated. When I asked her why commbank didn't say the same to me when I went to them with the exact same circumstances, she replied that every bank system is different.!!!!. If this is the level of customer service you receive from the branch manager, don't expect any improvement anytime soon. Going back tomorrow to close this account. Good luck for them losing business.
If you want to waste your time then go to this branch. One teller and the wait time is usually more than an hour. I wonder why this branch exist.
To the branch manager Candice Ohol you have the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Going in there for service to be greeted by the branch manger in the rudest manner I have ever encountered very stand offish, speaks over you and is so aggressive and arrogant if you would like to be treated like a peasant then please go into this branch I’m sure you will receive the lowest grade of service. It was the biggest waste of time trying to get help at this branch all the staff don’t want to work and are quick to get you out of the door. Not even worth one star but you have to put one to leave a review!!
Shocking customer service from the young Asian man. Do not go to this bank. I wanted to deposit coins for a charity and the atm machine that took coins was out of order. Proceeded to the register for assistance waited in the queue for a very long time because they do not have proper tellers anymore. The young guy handed me the bags and said I am to seperate the money myself and he couldn’t do this for me. I do not work at a bank and said to him no there are so many different coins and you can do this for me where he proceeded to laugh at me. This is the banks job not the customers job. I said I guess you don’t care then and he said yup your right I don’t. I was stunned as I work in customer service and I wouldn’t dream of laughing at a customer and then asking them to do it without explaining the reason why. Very arrogant and disrespectful young Asian man. I wouldn’t even bother going to this anz at all. You will be waiting for a long time and just to have rude staff who are unable to help you! Terrible service . The worst I’ve experience at any bank.
the bank manager Candice Ohol is very professional and has excellent customer service skills. One of the best. I highly recommend her branch.

Branch manager Candice Ohol was rude, unhelpful, condicending, and argumentaive. Worst experience l have encountered by far. All she asked was if l had an appointment. She gave me no opportunity to explain the nature of my visit. As l left she smirked and utter something under her breath in front of shocked customers.
