Would like to show my sincere appreciation to the team of Animal Welfare of Tiger Street, Ipswich, QLD. The service received was a 360 turn around from the service experienced at Animal Welfare, Logan. My rescue dog Nipsey is my family and she fills my heart with joy. She not only helps me in the home office, writing books, she helps me cope in a world of so many uncertainties. So from me to the team of Animal Welfare. THANK YOU for looking after my Nipsey.
I went to animal welfare, because my cat needed a scan,it was cheaper i will admit,it turned out my cat needed antibiotics,as he's organs were inflamed, suspect it was from the gum disease,he didn't have many teeth left, after the house call vet took out most of he's teeth,to help with inflammation,he was also on steroids, animal welfare took the rest just last week,my boy started to spasm, when he would try to eat,so I tried syringe feeding him,as he was a small boy,I did try to encourage him to eat,but when he did he would then spasm,I had to go in Wednesday this week, to get he's pain patch off, however I had removed it not realising that it was a pain patch, I was not told this,I did not appreciate on how I was spoken to, by the vet that saw us, because I removed it,when I wasn't informed that he was wearing a pain patch, I questioned in a manner, where I was being made out to be sadistic or something of that nature, and wanted to keep him in pain,if that was the case,I wouldn't have taken him to the emergency vet service at Jindalee a day or so later, to get looked at,and have another one put on,My little panther meant the world to me,the vet said, that the spams could be because he didn't have teeth anymore, and needed to figure out another way to eat,she asked me if I had been giving he's meds, I did she said have you thought of a pill popper, demonstrating with my boy,she said I will just test him on some tin food we have, then returned to tell me,bad news, she suspected he's jaw was fractured, she said it could have been caused it by syringe feeding him, even though I was super gentle,or he could have moved he's jaw wrong,I do question if she made it worse when she entered pill popper in he's mouth?,she took an x-ray to see if it could be fixed, I wasn't charged for it,she came back and said, nothing could be done, there was nothing left, that she could rewire he's jaw together with,so I was put on the spot,to make the decision,I wanted to hug him before he slipped into the deep sleep, but it was like my request was being ignored,I had my boy on my lap, when I had to say goodbye, because of course I would never allow him to be in pain, the vet was very insensitive, when I brought him in, also,I broke down yes, I had alot going on, however my boy was my light in the darkness, which is why I broke down, weeks I was trying to get him to good health to be strong enough for he's operation,I was afraid of losing him, but had to say goodbye anyway, I'm not saying all the staff are like this I don't want anyone experiencing what I did, just becareful.
We have a great experience with the care of our dog. Vets love pets, really want to help. Always constructively and in essence. Thanks!
As far as Vets go I cannot fault AWLQ. Their staff are always so lovely and helpful even when I’m stressing about my dog and nothing seems to be too much for them. I’ve had several really bad experiences at other vets and am always skeptical about the level of care my pooch gets, but not here, my dog actually likes going here and she hates everyone!!! Thanks AWLQ for all your hard work!! And Calista, you are the pick of the bunch!! Legend!!!
We took our very sick little dog to this clinic after receiving very average treatment at our regular vet. Their care and consideration was outstanding. The vet who looked after our little family member, went to no end of trouble explaining the situation with great compassion for both our little dog and myself. I think the vet spent two hours with me explaining likely outcomes and options with great honesty and as it turned out great accuracy. I came away feeling that I was her only client. We lost our little dog, she had to be euthanased and this was carried out with the same care we had always received. Nine months later and we have just adopted another little dog, not as a replacement, nothing could replace that little dog, but to try to fill the void. Needless to say I will be taking this little one to the same caring place even though it is a considerable distance from my home. Regarding their charges, I believe they are more than competitive with other vets.
This clinic is wonderful! They go above and beyond and I would happily recommend to others. The staff were just beautiful, with genuine empathy and concern for my pet's wellbeing and best interest. The follow up calls, explanation of post surgery care and feedback was very much appreciated and I can't thank the team enough for everything they have done. 5 stars all the way
When we rang we asked if the Animal Welfare League at Ipswich had an Avian Vet and explained the symptoms and we were told 'yes she is very experienced'. We had awoken that morning to our pet breathing funny and appeared quite unwell. By consultation time one look at our pet you could see he was in distress. Still we were made to wait in the waiting room for about 1.5 hours after our booked consultation time while they attended to stream after stream of minor things such as a dog who's owner was asking about flea powder and a cat owner asking about worming tablets. In the meantime our pet appeared to be getting sicker. Eventually we were seen. On top of all the fees charged to us was $25.00 for a few grams of what turned out to be a vitamin powder readily available for approx $12.95 for about 100grams. Turns out this definitely would not of been of help to our pet in anyway. We were desperate to save our little mates life. We asked if the vet could keep him in for treatment overnight. The answer, 'no, we don't do that here'. She told us to go and buy a product. We drove around for hours looking for it. We also had friends and other family driving around looking for it too plus making call after call to pet shops and other vet clinics. We could not find it in stock anywhere. We ended up dropping our pet off at a relatives house where he died while we were still trying to find this product that the vet told us to get. Turns out this product would not saved our pets life anyway so it was a waste of valuable time that should of been spent with our dying pet. I absolutely dispise the lack of care and treatment shown towards our beloved family member. We do not recall the vet giving us her name and it does not appear on the $200+ bill given to us either. We were $$$ supporters before this but not anymore.
