I walked into this store today while in the area to find a grooming brush for my new rescue greyhound. I walked in and with the first look into the store i felt sad and physically sick. There are so many gorgeous, intelligent, beautiful birds stuck in tiny cages with a ridiculous amount of birds in each cage. Despite this I stayed for a little while talking to the poor babies. It is so cruel and just broke my heart. Same goes with the poor bunnies. This place should be shut down, honestly, can't believe pet stores like this still exist. Awful. Wish i took photos to report it, they have signs all over the store saying no photos - it's no wonder they don't want people photographing the state the animals are kept in!
Great prices but the lady was almost violent towards most of the animals and unfriendly towards my little girl, basically saw her throw a bird and squish fish as she collected one for me. The tanks were not clean at all. I was actually shocked at the state of the store.
The lady who worked today this morning 22/04/2022 was quite rude wasn't very pleasant when I first walked in it felt like she almost didn't want me there and when I asked for a fish she grabbed the bag and then when trying to get the fish she was quite AGRESSIVE towards the fish and then had the decency to tell me I couldn't buy the fish with my card until I got a other fish because it was under $15 so I had to get a other fish when I only just wanted 1 so not very good and even with the 2nd fish I didn't really want she was squishing all the other fish in the tank, while she said to me to hold the fish bag in my hand she snatched the bag out of my hand quite aggressively with the fish in my hand
Highly recommend this store. Connie is fantastic with all the animals and a real "local feel", prices are cheaper than the bigger chains. Always a warm welcome and a chat. Helpful, knowledgeable advice on any concers with your furry friend! ! Wouldnt shop anywhere else.
Wish we could leave NO stars, but this needs to be known if purchasing a bird from Werribe Animal Pet and Aquarium Pet Supplies. Absolutely appalled by Connie and her husbands services/conduct. We are taking this to VCAT for a resolution, because we unfortunately can't get a resolution from Animal House Pet and Aquarium Supplies. We purchased a quaker parrot from Connie at Werribee Animal House pet and aquarium supplies in March. Before purchasing the quaker parrot, Connie told us via gumtree that all parrots were sold with DNA certificates, We did not want to purchase a quaker without DNA results however due to covid-19 there were delays on receiving the results, so we happily waited a couple of weeks for the quaker parrots to become available in store. We expected for $450 for everything to go smoothly, also being an actual pet store we were confident in purchasing the parrot so god forbid if anything went wrong they were just a phone call away... It is now June, after 3 months having our quaker parrot and multiple attempts to get in touch with Connie via her store and personal number, we were abruptly told only last saturday that the breeder stuffed up with the DNA results, and that we were to sort it out with the breeder? also both of them rudely saying that they have to go as he has customers in store. We are still a customer! Just because you already took our $450 in March you think we are less important?? We believe the least Connie could've done is assist us to get the DNA results from the breeder, considering this is not our fault. We were questioned "why we wanted the DNA results, if we're not breeders what does it matter".. We waited patiently before the purchase and after, to receive the DNA results to name our parrot - To our horror we were rudely told that if we didn't want the bird, we should bring it back otherwise theres nothing they will do. We absolutely love the bird, however feel left on a limb after waiting three months for DNA results to be told there's nothing they can do because they aren't the breeder.. also apparently we traumatised connie just by asking for our DNA results.. It's a shame we have to take this to VCAT to hopefully receive DNA results to get this resolved. Thanks for the extremely unpleasant experience.
The owner is a very nice man,we got 2 rabbits from him,healthy and cute,he very patient explained how to keep them healthy and happy lives.
Wow old type dwelling not much parking but what a range of birds and needs service very very friendly wil be back soon as I'm extending my bird house...Thanks R J
I saw a puppy that had no food or water shaking in the corner. The birds are featherless!!!!! I feel truly hopeless as I want to rescue all the animals that come into this store : it’s digusting and smells like smoke
Lovely family business. They don't sugar coat things and corner you to make a sale. I spend ages there at times with my daughter.
Not impressed with the overall cleanliness of store. Bird cages very dirty and smelly, products over priced. First and defiantly last visit.
