At $215 per night it was very poor value for money. On check in I was told it was normally $185 but they'd increased the price because the dates were popular. The room is tired and dated. Paintwork is chipped. The bathroom is below average. The shampoo and body wash are awful and gooey. There is no fan in the bathroom. There is no filter coffee or plunger if you were to buy your own - just a few boring instant coffee sachets and teabags - one variety only. The microwave is ancient and sits tilted on its little rails. There are no dishes for the microwave. There is not even a salad bowl. There is a pervading smell of somebody's cooking that wafts up into the room. The freezer takes 2 days to freeze an ice pack. Then 2 hotplates are not the cleanest. Here a serviced room means they replace towels and make the bed. They replaced the tiny milks in the fridge and left the fridge door open. What's good? Wi-fi. The bed is comfortable. There is little traffic noise.

Great beds and with easy to find motel. The king size bed a real bonus and was super comfy and loved the crisp white sheets so we had a great sleep as a result of this. Bedroom was spacious and this was appreciated.

LAW breakers and DISHONEST people. (i) Albany Oaks motel is a trading name, Fay and Catherine will not disclose their company name. This is breaking NZ law. (ii) I suspect that Fay and Catherine are not their real names. They have real Chinese names they will not disclose these and use their adopted kiwi names. DODGY AND DISHONEST. If you run into any type of problems with these guys (i) you DON'T know which company you are dealing with (ii) you DON'T know who Fay and Catherine really are (iii) they are happy to break the NZ law- they will treat you with the same level of DISRESPECT YOU have been warned-avoid at all costs
