They did so well looking after my wee man for 3 nights in a row. I'm unsure what people expect with the pricing, you pay to have your pet attended to when everywhere else is closed, of course you pay a premium for it. Be a responsible pet owner and get pet insurance.nnStaff were super lovely, especially the lady at reception and the vet who had a staffy of her own. Thank you for taking care of Marlow for his stay!
The team at after hours vet clinic helped us last night when we had to put our much loved cat Zola to sleep after being with us for 16 years. The vet nurse that did it was very gentle, informative and caring towards us and Zola. Taken in account that it was late on a Sunday we couldn’t be happier with the service that we got.
Brought my cat Lucie here after i suspected she had been exposed to lily pollen. They got us in super quick and within 10 minutes of looking her over offered me with options of treatment. All the vets, nurse and reception were kind and easy to deal with in such a high stress situation. Although costly, wasn't quite as much as originally quoted and for a great service it was worth it. One bit of feedback I would like to add is that after given my options it was said that all her care would be handed to our regulaely vet, the next morning. However I wasnt informed that she would need to be handed over again the next night to continue her treatment. As her vet and other vets I called, don't offer an overnight service. This would have been good to know at the time of consultation. Otherwise I'm very happy and appreciate everyone at the after hours vet clinic.
Took my injured cat in as my normal vet couldn’t see her so late in the day. The vet was great. He was gentle with her, diagnosed the issue very quickly and the medication he prescribed has helped alot. Luna is doing well. Very grateful for the after hours care. Thank you.
Unfortunately our pet was misdiagnosed at this center by the specialist vet. The duty vets, Juliette and Nathan, were wonderful. Moreover, they were correct in their management of our pets condition despite being hopelessly busy and overstretched. Less than 48hrs of care fluids, meds, x2 scans cost $2500 which includes hourly boarding fee of $150 by comparison: $150/day for the same service in Australia, plus an extra $2000 for the surgery carried out by the referring vet, which as it turned out, wasn't needed. We had no pet insurance because our cat was a rescue which unfortunately, had a predisposition to pancreatitis. Risk-based pricing and this pre-existing condition put pet insurance out of our reach.nSadly, we had to call time on Puck when she became unwell again. Because of the recurring nature of her condition and not wanting to expose her to this service again we chose instead to treat her conservatively leading to her early demise at just 6yrs old.nnNB: As others note, there is no contact number or email on the Christchurch website for this company. Got the runaround when seeking the name of the service manager wanting to share our concerns about the misdiagnosis. Minimum standards that exist for complaints handling ISO 10002 are clearly not observed by this organisation. The website is rudimentary at best. None of the above would be tolerated for humans. All of the above severely undermined our confidence in this service which we hope never to have to access again as it reeks with the stench of profiteering.nnAs a footnote. People making public their value judgements about those of us without pet insurance should think again. There are many reasons why people do not have pet insurance, some of which have nothing to do with whether or not they are responsible pet owners.
