Story

In 2017, ACCIONA reached an agreement to acquire the Geotech Group (Geotech). The deal builds upon ACCIONA Construction and Geotech’s complementary businesses, and creates a platform for growth that can respond to the sizeable demand for infrastructure in the Australian market, estimated at 125 billion Australian dollars over the next decade.

The investment sees the formation of a new company, ACCIONA Geotech Holding, bringing together ACCIONA’s future construction pipeline in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, and the Geotech Group of companies. The new group is majority owned by ACCIONA Infrastructure Asia Pacific and headquartered in Victoria.

ACCIONA Group has been a JV partner on some of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects including the Victorian Regional Rail Link project, Preston Tram Depot Redevelopment, Adelaide Metro Rail Network project, the Glenelg to Adelaide Tram Line, and the Warragamba Dam project. Current projects include Melbourne Quarter, various Level Crossings Removal projects, Sydney Light Rail, Southland Station, Caroline Springs Station, Forrestfield-Airport Link, Parramatta Rd Vent Shaft Facility, Darebin Yarra Trail Link Bridges, Boral Deer Park Quarry Plant and Wallen St Bridge Strengthening.

About Geotechnical Engineering
Geotechnical Engineering is a civil engineering construction contractor specialising in a broad range of construction works including the design & construction of basement retention systems, piling, slope stabilisation (including rock fall netting & fencing and rope access trained personnel to IRATA standard), soil nails, rock bolting, shotcreting and ground anchors (both temporary & permanent “GEGA” ground anchors and SBMA).

We also specialise in grouting, dam upgrades, tunnels, hydro-electric projects, irrigation systems, piers & sea walls, airports, water industry structures and facilities, offshore contracting and NATA accredited laboratory services. Geotech is also established in Western Australia, providing our specialist services to the mining industry. These services include slope stabilisation, ground anchors, piling, civil works and offshore contracting.

About Coleman Rail
Coleman Rail is a construction contractor specialising in Metro, Freight & Heavy Haul and Light Rail infrastructure. We are able to undertake the design & construction of almost all of the individual components that collectively make up the fixed rail infrastructure of a rail network.

We have particular advantages in multi-disciplinary projects and have specialist expertise in the delivery of projects within live rail environments and constrained sites. Our capacity to plan and support projects requiring reliable completion within the shortest possible occupation of the asset is founded on our extensive experience in such works and our practice of minimising our reliance on subcontractors. Our commitment to maximise the works completed by direct labour and hourly hired resources gives our project management teams complete control of the selection of resources applied to the task and the capacity to redirect resources if and when required.

John Beever Australia is a mechanical engineering company founded in 1979 to supply contract mechanical services to oil & gas, mining and manufacturing industries. From this beginning the company now provides fully integrated design, manufacture and installation expertise, together with a jobbing and fabrication workshop, as well as total project management services for new installation works, major shutdown programs and preventative maintenance activities.

ACCIONA Infrastructure has completed the landmark Legacy Way tunnels in Brisbane and is involved in a number of transport projects across the country including the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing in Queensland, the Pacific Highway upgrade between Warrell Creek and Nambucca Heads, the 1.5 km long bridge over the Clarence River at Harwood, and the Sydney Light Rail project in New South Wales. It has several teams working on bids in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. In the water sector, ACCIONA Agua was part of the consortium that built and now operates the Adelaide Desalination Plant for SA Water, the Mundaring Water Treatment Plant near Perth. It is now is building water treatment plants on the Sunshine Coast and Tasmania.
