This morning, the staff at Tuggeranong already signed the document for getting the P license. Unfortunately, I forgot my wallet. So I went to Woden to finish the payment in the afternoon because Woden is nearer my house. One staff and her supervisor there overcomplicated simple things just because they believed that the way of sign the name was not proper and didn’t offer a chance to correct the signatures or to count the hours singed correctly. I think the hours with correct signatures may be enough. Because occasionally kid’s dad signed his name with one name through multiple lines vertically. However, the only way she insisted on was to report it to a higher authority. At last, they issued a license and told us maybe that license would be canceled because of improper signature in the logbook if the higher authority disapprove. The whole process lasted more than half an hour and made our beautiful and joyful day become a bad day. This experience just made me feel that they were not trying to solve the problem but finding trouble for the customer.nnFingers crossed you will not meet that staff and just finish payment within minutes.nnThe staff served us at Tuggeranong was very patient to wait for us to count the hours and guided us through the form with patience, while the staff at Woden even had no patience to listen to what we said. So my gratitude for telling me how to sign became upset and angry for their way of solving problems. This is my experience. Fingers crossed for our next experience.
I had a few hiccups with my change of license and registration due to personal circumstances. However, the access canberra team made a solid effort and plan to help me get it all done today. Apologies, I forgot to ask for your name. In particular, thanks to the really tall and patient man on counter 7 with the DBZ protein shaker.
My partner attended Woden today to swap from NSW to ACT and was served by an American who obviously had an attitude issue.nnMy partner wears 2 hearing aids and couldn’t hear what she was saying and he pointed to the hearing aids and got a huge eye roll rather not once but twice when asked to repeat what was being said - no empathy shown was rude and disrespectful.nnShe needs more training in serving those with a disability or find her a job where she doesn’t have to deal with people.
Excellent team. Very knowledgeable and organised. Lots of backup plans in place for when things get complex or fail. Overall good experience.
The employee who greeted me, Andrew, was very polite and on top of things and helped the process to go very smoothly. He even let me know if my hair was messy without me asking him before a photo I needed to take! Paperwork processes would be so much easier if we didn’t have to go in to access Canberra in person to verify our identities, especially for volunteers who just want to do good in society! I’m also not sure why they need like four or five identity proof documents. I think in New South Wales it was only two or three in most cases. Also, I’m not sure why it takes so long to have a WWVP card mailed. The estimated time they gave me was 5-6 weeks.
