The BEST strawberries in NZ! Unbelievably sweet! Can’t beat it ! Take your friends and family to their farm and pick the most amazing tasting and looking berries !
My husband and I bought a tray of 3kg strawberries. Unfortunately, more than half of the strawberries were rotten and couldn’t be eaten.nIt cost NZD10 for 3kg; therefore, no complaint but we wouldn’t go there again as there are far better strawberry farms in other parts of Auckland.
Appreciative as advertised as seconds, but we found multiple strawberries in the punnets very well bruised after purchasing, Including a bunch that was rotting. Raised to the farm on Facebook and was told that it was not rotten and just ripe due to the weather, that I should bring a chilli bin to transport the strawberries on the way home and to limit our expectations as they were only $2 punnets and second grade strawberries.nnWhile I appreciate the grading and weather, my concerns were not about the quality I got today, but rather than the drop in quality from previous batches as a returning customer and wanting to inform the farm about that drop.nnInstead I get messages from the farm noting I should be mindful of everything noted above and that otherwise these strawberries would be thrown away, as if they are doing this as charity of sorts. And that the strawberries are fine when the photos of what we purchased was presented.nnIf you think the strawberries in my photos are just overly ripe and still edible I'm happy to come return these for you to have so they don't go to waste, something you highlight every time.nnMy feedback is not to attack but to bring awareness of potential customers what they may get in the second grade punnets, and if the farm cares enough, to also be aware of their quality they are selling. It's only to share my experience even though there are many happy customers which the farm also reminds me of many times.
We have visited your working farm several times over the years and have found the staff to be helpful and happy. Reading some of your clients' comments l feel l must al nake a review. When we pay 2$ for a 1KG punnet of 2nds strawberries we must realise tgst somevof tgem will bruise and squash if underneath weight of the top strawberrues. 2$ is not eve enough to pay the labourers in the gardens let alone the owner farmers. But we the clients get to enjoy the fruit of THEIR labours even if some of them are further spoiled with weight pressure and travel, including heat, loss of sustenance to the berries etc. I enjoy giving my jams to charitable organisations and eat only tfe left over half jars. Some are frozen for smpothies etc. Thank you Zaknich owners, you serve the public well.
