Story

Jonkers Farm is situated at one of the highest points in Auckland with views of both the east and west coast. Jonkers Farm is 536 acres and overlooks Bethells Beach, Muriwai, Kaipara Harbour, Auckland Harbour, Auckland city and the Sky Tower. We are a real working sheep and cattle farm which remains untouched and highly maintained. It is free of power lines and structures which enables film crews and events to be completely natural . Because of it's incredible, varied wilderness and amazing views is an international destination for film and special events.

Jonkers Farm is in a secluded location, with intimate privacy and unique vintage style, which is why we were chosen to film America's Next Top Model, along with many other productions in complete confidentiality. We host a limited number of one of a kind, outdoor, pop up, Woodland weddings per year. 30 minutes by car from Auckland's CBD or 8 minutes by helicopter.

Jonkers Farm has a private, registered Airstrip and a vintage 1940's working woolshed. Jonkers Farm is fully equipped with production offices and a studio shed for film. After 100 years on Jonkers Farm, and five generations of Jonkers family on the farm, we have a wealth of knowledge of the land and how it works, logistics and location management. We have been involved in film and events for over 25 years beginning with Black Beauty in 1990. We have all the necessary vehicles & equipment for transportation on a film set or large event.

We have had line of sight of all the amazing wedding set ups that have been used for weddings held at Jonkers Farm for a number of years. It was so exciting when our son and daughter-in-law chose this beautiful venue for their wedding. On the day the Jonkers crew did all you could hope for. They indulged our curious grandchildren letting them pretend to drive the vintage trucks and the ATV’ s used to ferry the guests to the wedding site. They made sure that everything went smoothly so that everyone had a wonderful day . Would highly recommend this beautiful venue to anyone.
The most beautiful location for our wedding. Jonkers is more than just a venue it is a truely unique experience for every guest. Our guests came from all over NZ & overseas were blown away with the views and the smooth operation from the Jonkers family. The property is so well looked after and was immaculate on the day - not an easy job I would imagine as it is a working farm! Jo & Greg were the most incredible people to deal with from start to finish from site visits, numerous emails, planning the run sheet, health & safety, on the day coordinating our vendors getting set up around the property, safely transporting our vendors, family and friends around the farm and so much more. They were easy to communicate with, clear, professional and relaxed. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to step foot on such a gorgeous property, thank you Jonkers family for sharing your west coast paradise with us! We want to do it all over again already.
Well 2 years ago today, seems an age.... 5 days before the original Covid 19 lockdowm here in NZ, we managed to have the day of our lives. Other than missing a few guests that couldn't travel, our day couldn't have been better. The Team at Jonkers Farm were fabulous, nothing was too much. farrying people up & down the farm. From the moment I saw the wedding site I knew this was the place, That stand of trees was perfect. The casual nature of our event was suited this site and has people talking about it still. We wanted a relaxed day out on the farm followed by a big party. We got it! Can't thank Greg, Joanna enough & their team, including the family of buggy drivers.
Beautiful settings, a very good place to organise the most special events of your life like weddings, receptions or Anniversary milestones. Very picturesque place and great service.
Highly recommend Jonkers Farm for a Wedding venue. From the start Joanna and Greg were so helpful and Joanna gave helpful advice on vendors they recommend or have worked with and went above and beyond answering any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly on the day and still to this day people talk about how they enjoyed our wedding day and loved the venue. Thank you for making it special.
A beautiful setting and a wonderful day was held at Jonkers Farm for a family wedding. Joanna was wonderful at advising us and along with Greg, they were very welcoming hosts. 3 years after the event and we still have guests telling us how much they loved the wedding and venue. Highly recommended.
Good friends of mine chose to get married at Jonkers farm this year, the wedding itself was beautiful - the bride and groom were flawless after working tirelessly to create their perfect day. The venue was presented well and had gorgeous views however, to anyone looking to have their wedding here, i strongly advise you to please look elsewhere. The couple that run this farm have done nothing but insult and personally attack the bride and groom, and others in their party after they gave them some feedback via email after the wedding. The way these people conduct themselves and their buiness is appalling - there are various reviews on google that all say the same thing, meaning that there is one common denominator - the owners. The way that the female owner behaved both at the wedding and after the event, is disgusting - she should be ashamed of herself. This is not opinion - this is fact. I do not wish to lower myself to their standard and attack them on a personal level because in my opinion, its childish. As you will see by their responses to other negative reviews - they refuse to take any constructive feedback, or responsibility. Their words and actions do nothing but reflect the kind of people they are - not someone you need or want when youre planning your perfect day. For those reading these reviews to find out what Jonkers farm is like - yes it is beautiful, but you can get beautiful views anywhere and trust me, its not worth the money. There will undoubtedly be some form of ridiculous response to this - take it as another example of who you would be dealing with if you chose to get married here. Whatever rubbish you decide to reply with Joanne - just remember that it does more damage to you than anyone else… its just water off a ducks back to me, so happy typing love!
This venue is just so unbelievably beautiful and Greg and Joanna were so helpful! They were able to give so many tips on what they had seen work well previously and helped to make sure things ran smoothly on the day. Our day was magical and they were definitely a big part of making that happen. Thank you so much guys!

Chris just read me the below response to his review. I am his wife. I feel extreme pity for you Joanna. Clearly who is writing “Greg’s” responses. So unprofessional. I haven’t spoken to the photographer since the day after the wedding when we received highlights. The stylist is wonderful and I have no reason to complain about her. She made my dream come true. I barely drink due to migraines, so I find your statements comical and outlandish. Nonetheless, I didn’t expect anything less of a response from you. We have said what we have said. When there is a common denominator and there is - many people have told us of your behaviour one should look within. Accountability and responsibility go along way. Greg, Chris said he will pop up for a chat if you like.
