I always look forward to visiting Yan’s during my trips, and it has become a cherished tradition for me. The Asian food at the cafeteria is simply outstanding! There’s such a great variety of shops that I can always find something special to take back home to Whanganui.nnFor me, Yan’s is not just a meal; it’s a part of my travel routine. I always make sure it’s the last stop before I head back home, as it wraps up my trip on a high note. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Yan’s for a delicious meal and a fun shopping experience! You won’t regret it!
I like going to this place as it has most of the things I need to add to it. It comes with a restaurant as well.i really love their dim sum juicy and soft and noodle.plus they had a small section for the bakery as well.
The perfect place to get all your Asian related items, ranging from snacks, sauces, instant meals, frozen food, veges, etc. They even have a dining area where you can order your Asian favourites or do a takeaway. Their roast duck, bbq pork, roast pork and wat tan hor are on the must have list. There are toilets located at the rear where the carpark is. Parking out front can be a nightmare if it’s busy but lots of street parking available if you don’t mind a short stroll.
I feel like the restaurant has really cut back their meat. I got Kung Bo chicken and it had about 20 grams of chicken at best and tonnes of filler like mushrooms, nuts, water chestnut. Not in a rush to go back any time soon. Really sad to see. Also noticed their turtle chips are $7 and reduced to clear porirua had 3 bags for $5 the other week. Yikes.
I go here every couple of weeks to get all my Asian groceries, the fresh/veg section is quite limited but they have most Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, and Japanese supplies. Their in house resturant is modest but delicious!!!nnHighly recommend the Beef Ho Fun and Dim Sum selections!
