Bought every thing here for they have the best prices in Dunedin. The fruits are just a little cheaper but the breads and other stuff were affordable due to the large packaging.nFruits here are the best in town. The cheese section was also impressive though the ice cream section was small and disappointing due to too few selections.
Some good stuff, and some good prices, but very dreary and depressing to shop in and terrible customer service. New World is considered more expensive, but I've done comparison shops, and both times, it cost way more at Woolworths. If you want mangoes in season or sparkling wine, then it's better, but that's about it. Generally superior range of goods and experience at New World. The main reason I shop at Woolworths is that I can get there by walking 2min from work at lunchtime, and it's easier to get in and out of the carpark than New World Centre City - otherwise I would only shop there
I had arrived from Wellington to inspect a building opposite the carpark at 11 am and had just munched brekky at 10.30am so was in no mood to buy anything from Woolworths. Bought lunch there as then I was a paying customer. The ticket said as I hadn't bought anything I was in violation of the terms so I said I had afterwards bought items and showed them the receipt. In the end to my utmost dismay, they did not accept my appeal and I was left 65 bucks out of pocket. Would you like fries with that?
Went here a few weeks ago to get some groceries. Saw a whole pumpkin was on special for around $5.89 or $5.49. Went to self checkout only for it to be 3-5$ higher than what it was advertised to be pretty expenny pumpkin soup we had that night. Being a student aswell, I’m trying to maintain budgeting costs. Also, why are the freezer ticket prices soo far away? I’m 5’0 and can’t see unless I lean over the freezer which I don’t want to do when there’s security around and I may get told off for doing so. My partner is taller than me and also has issues seeing them!
Normally love shopping here, many kind checkout staff but recently I had a very unpleasant interaction with an older woman named Lynley. I felt rushed and unwelcome. Terrible customer service, ruined my day.
