Try to avoid going to Woolworths here if you can. If you really have to go, it is much safer to walk, especially for tourists, because a great trip in New Zealand should not be ruined by a “fine” you do not deserve. You always have better options, and Woolworths has no real control over what happens in their car park.nnPES enforces parking very aggressively, issuing “fines” under the claim of “non-customer” parking in a customer only area. It feels like they are constantly watching and issuing notices at will.nnThe trap is the unclear definition of “customer”. Someone can go into Woolworths, browse, and not buy anything, which is normal, but without a receipt they may still be treated as a non-customer, meaning a $65 charge just for being a potential Woolworths customer. Can you believe it? You are paying just to be a possible customer. That’s interesting.nnComing from Australia as tourists, this is not something seen in any Woolworths car park in Australia, where rules are generally straightforward and not dependent on proof of purchase. It felt unusual and surprising.nnIf you do drive to Woolworths and park here, keep all receipts and evidence, because you will likely need to dispute a notice with PES.nnA very unpleasant experience, shared as a warning for others.
Bought every thing here for they have the best prices in Dunedin. The fruits are just a little cheaper but the breads and other stuff were affordable due to the large packaging.nFruits here are the best in town. The cheese section was also impressive though the ice cream section was small and disappointing due to too few selections.
Questionable prices and unreliable stock. Somehow the staff completing online orders are worse with their black trolleys than the in-store customers. One bumped into a toddler and didnt even apologise to the kid or the parent nearby.nOrdered online for delivery from this store 10 times across the last year - a bag of groceries was always missing. Always. As if dealing with their online service was bad enough. Do not recommend.nThey’ve updated some of the aisles and somehow managed to shelve everything worse than before. The new refrigerated shelves are set back further with the new doors and trolly barriers. No commonsense on how items are stocked and no way to bring the products forward.
Genuinely lovely, big supermarket. Laden with fresh produce. Delightful girl on the till offered to pack my bags. Customer service staff ordered me a taxi.nVery welcome on arrival from Intercity bus.nNot massively cheap but a good range.
Amazing place to get groceries fromnMy favourite is the flowers by the entrance
