Why Knot Outlet Shop

Bought some stuff from here. It sells cheap food and snacks. Many items are close to the “best before” date or expired, but still good to eat. The shop is busy and a bit messy, but you can save money with good deals.

I used to shop here every week for years, but lately I’ve found the prices are often cheaper at Pak’nSave. There just don’t seem to be the same bargains anymore.nnOn top of that, many of the products are expired or very close to their expiry dates. If items are nearing expiry, you’d expect significant discounts — but that’s not what I’m seeing.nnToday’s “super store special” was $2.20 for a small 130g can of peanuts, which honestly felt like an early April Fools’ joke.nnIf the owner wants to retain loyal customers, pricing needs to be more realistic and better aligned with competitors.

The entire store is neat, organized and tidy. Staff were attentive and helpful. Parking is quite a handful but people were quite quick when visiting why knot. We visited after 5 pm hence parking isnt an issue. There’s plenty of products to choose from. The deals were just amazing every time we come. :

I usually like shopping at Why Knot, and overall I want to give the store a thumbs up. However, I had an uncomfortable experience with one staff member that needs to be addressed.nnI was simply checking the expiry dates and my receipt to make sure everything was correct. I noticed I was charged $9 for three ice cream bars that were marked at $5, so I politely asked the lady at the front to check it.nnInstead of calmly reviewing the receipt, she insisted that the items had not been paid for and said she needed to check my car.nnI immediately took her to my car. She took my shopping bag to a counter and went through all my items again, in front of other customers. I was already prepared to pay with my card if something had not been paid for. She even said, “Oh, one more in the bag,” suspiciously referring to a pack of cheese, as if I had taken something without paying.nnIn the end, it turned out that I had actually paid $4 more, not less. She had to refund me. She did say “sorry,” but by then I had already been treated like a wrongdoer in public, which was upsetting and embarrassing.nnI also recall a similar situation involving this same staff member a few years ago, although it did not directly involve me at the time. While I understand that retail staff need to be alert due to shoplifting concerns, customers should not be treated based on suspicion alone. There are more respectful and professional ways to handle price or receipt enquiries.nnI hope this feedback helps improve customer service, because aside from this issue, the store itself is good.

Love coming here to check out their specials. Lately it’s been the salami and yoghurt. Great deals, staff friendly. Car park can get a bit crazy during peak times.
