Visited on our first night in Wanaka and grabbed a table at their outdoor patio overlooking the lake around sunset. You go up to the counter to order, which wasn’t immediately clear to us. But the staff was helpful enough when flagged down. One of the servers made some helpful wine recommendations. We ordered the fish taco and pork butt appetizers to share - the pork was 10/10 - SO good and crispy with an amazing BBQ sauce. Lamb shank was okay - sauce was good but would have been better if it was crisped up. Service was very fast - good if you need a decent quick meal!
Wonderful food and wine. Small comment would be that there were too many mustard seeds in the mash, but still recommend for dinner and drinks. Great view of the lake if you sit outside. Also has a wonderful fire on the go.
Came early 5pm ish got busy quick! Food was incredible and the wings were $1 each! When they say crispy they mean crispy! So good!! Lamb shank was really good, a little fatty but you'd expect that, good selection of food and drink! Very happy we came! Vegetarian options: They say alot of the dishes can be adapted to make them vegie just got to ask :
It was OK. It's a standard pub with reasonably priced pub food. We had the chicken tacos and chicken burger. Both were good. It was an ideal place to go to as we arrived in Wanaka as places were stopping food service. There's no atmosphere, but it did the job of giving a good feed at a reasonable price.
we were looking for a place to eat on New Years and landed here because it offered the closest to what we were all craving. Customer service was good, time it took to bring the food out was quick but the food was below average. The seafood chowder was bland! No flavour at all! It was unseasoned. The lamb shank sauce was bitter did not go well with the lamb at all! It could be just their way of cooking it but I've had these dishes quite often and they've been consistently the same everywhere except here! The 15% public holiday surcharge would have worth it if the food wasn't below average. Other than that the staff and atmosphere was great.
The location and setting were fantastic. The food was good but nothing special. The waiting staff left a bit to be desired. Unfortunately, the smoking area and dining area are joined and that caused a few customers to leave. Still, we enjoyed our meal and time there.
The prime ribeye steak was perfectly cooked, tasted great and good portion. Highly recommended.
Its a beautiful location. You order up at the till, staff is always quiet busy and a bit stressed the last times props understaffed which is not their fault so not outstanding nice but not bad either . the food is average bar food but quiet nice for a snack whilst having a drink, just what you need its always full, due to location, but generally the vibe is friendly : definitely worth a stop ,for the beautiful location alone.
Self service, sticky table, food quality at the bottom of average. Meat and veggies over cooked, ratio meet to mash lol we’ll the mash was more, not good enough flavour coming through any of the dishes we ordered. Value for money?-not good .Won’t be returning until changes are made. Thank you! On the upside, the aircon was great, the noise was just at the right level and yes, you get the lakeside view.
Excellent dinner out. Food was simple but good and tasty. Service was professional and friendly. Atmosphere was pleasant. Nice way to end an outdoors trip.Food: 5/5
