The boat tour through the glowworm cave was a unique experience, though no touching of the rocks and no photos were allowed until the very end. Before the tour, visitors had the chance to admire the stunning stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave.
Honestly, with the distance traveled, visiting the glow worm cave didn’t feel worth it. No photos are allowed during the tour, so there’s nothing to bring back except your memories—and who knows how long those will last? The boat ride was only about 20 minutes, and the rest was just walking through the cave, which felt pretty standard—nothing impressive. The guide was cute and funny, but overall, the tour was overpriced and not worth the time. I wouldn’t recommend it. If you find a better glow worm cave experience, let me know!
Spectator experience!nI took my teenage sons there on the first day of the school holidays.nThe glow worm cave boat ride was a jaw dropping real wonder.nWe also went to the Aranui cave. This was also marvelous. Everything is safe, so even old people with average fitness can enjoy.nOur guide was welcoming and interesting.nHighly recommended!
Every bit of the cave tour was really neat. There are sections of the tour that are illuminated so that you can enjoy the underground scenery and sections that are dark so you can see the glow worms.
Just had a great day. The glow worm caves are a must. We did two caves, the boat trip glow worm cave no photos and the Ruakuri, which is amazing. Each cave is truly unique.nWe're rocked up and purchased our tickets on the day, but I suggest you do this early in the day as in the afternoon you might miss out.
