Wairau Hospital Emergency Room

I came to the emergency room yesterday with a very bad laceration on my ear. It took less than 5 minutes before I was admitted as a patient. From the very first second I felt very safe and in good hands, every member of staff treated me with a lot of respect. With the triage system it is of course clear that you have to plan for a waiting time, but this was completely reasonable! When I got to the treatment room, a really nice doctor was there straight away who took care of me. She explained every single step to me in detail and made me feel like I was in good hands. The doctor stayed in contact with me throughout the entire treatment, talked to me and completely took away my fear and nervousness! I felt very comfortable here! I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped me and treated me so well!

Staff were wonderful with a great sense of humor, which was much needed given the circumstances
