Thousands of years in the making and nestled within a natural bush setting, walks through this unique volcanic area take between 30 and 75 minutes.
The Lady Knox Geyser erupts daily at 10.15am to heights of up to 20 metres. Features include the world famous Champagne Pool and Sinter Terrace as well as hot springs, steaming ground, expansive vistas and huge volcanic craters. The constant bubbling and erupting of the Mud Pool add to your experience at New Zealand’s most colourful volcanic attraction.
The first class Visitor Centre incorporates café and retail facilities.

The largest mud pool in New Zealand, it was originally the site of a large mud volcano which was destroyed through erosion in the 1920’s.Waiotapu is a cashless site. Last admission to the park is at 3pm."
