If you are after lovingly made delicious, delectable, delights Mistress of Cakes is perfect for you. We take great pride in creating beautiful food by hand, using only the best ingredients. Food that your grandmother made. If you need baking for a special occasion or 'just because', Mistress of Cakes will be only too happy to help.

We are located in town on Eruera Street and also have a shop on Lynmore Avenue in Lynmore, which is opened Wed-Fri from 9am - 3pm and Sat/Sun 9am-1pm.

The best pastry shop in New Zealand! This place is fantastic. I only wish we had a chance to drop by on the weekend for one of her tasty Friday night take away dinners.
The cakes here are outstanding!! Not only the little cakes in the shop - which are the tastiest! But they kindly made my sons birthday cake with 1 days notice, which was amazing!! Baked to perfection, iced beautifully- it is the tastiest cake I have ever eaten. Well priced and wonderful service - definitely worth a visit
Such a gorgeous, little, independent cake shop. It has a lovely homely feel and the baked goods are so delicious, we went there 2 days in a row! The owner is clearly passionate about her business, and was very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back
If you haven't tried a sausage roll what are you even doing with your life. They are the best sausage that has entered my mouth plus Siobhan is lovely
Deliciousness! Best sausage rolls in NZ, Cinnamon Scrolls are to die for, so are the tarts, all the slices... Get in. Dog friendly too, water bowl outside. So lucky to have this in my neighbourhood. The coffee is awesome too!
Best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had!!! Seriously, i visited 2 months ago but every time I eat another cinnamon roll I think “man, not as good as that one from Rotorua” yep. That good. I would drive out of my way for this cinnamon roll. My mom and I spent about an hour eating it, savoring each bite. Don’t understand how this place could get less than 5 stars. Go early if you want to get the sausage roll! Plus the owner and baker is such a sweet gem!!
I love the Mistress of Cakes crew even more than I love their cakes, which is saying something. Best slices I've ever tasted and their takeaway dinners are delicious as well. And if you're there in the morning, make sure to try the savory breakfast muffins -- egg, bacon and cheese. Delicious!
The best sausage roll in New Zealand for 2018 is no lie! She was closed the first time I looked but I tried again next day. She was the bubbliest, cheeriest baker I have even seen. It was late in the day and she only had one sausage roll left but it was the best. The mistress said she was working with her friend who left the day before so she was closed just for that day. Our travelling gang came back next morning for a road treat and we took pictures of the Mistress and her mom. Everyone should go here. No kidding!
Top notch coffee and cinnamon and brown sugar scroll were amazing. Lots of other yummy treats to choose from to. Recommend!
