One of the worst customer service experiences I have had and it made me very quickly decide not to buy what I went in there to buy, the two lady’s at the counter were unwelcoming, I asked if they could show me the clothing that was in the packs and also if I could open a pack, one lady laughed under her breath at me, the other said “there are signs that say you can’t” and I didn’t see them as they were well above eye level. And then she was very snappy and moody with me about having to show me the clothes and scoffed that I didn’t just look for them by myself, when it was her job to help customers. The coldest customer service I’ve had in a very very long time. To add to this it was VERY quiet in the store and they were not busy, but she expressed that she was very annoyed that I asked her for help. Will never be buying from here again
Absolutely the best hunting and fishing store. Great people running the place especially the man with the white beard cause he is a legend not only helping me out but my mates as well. After reading most of the 1 star reviews I have found that they are mostly all self inflicted problems that have nothing to do with hunting and fishing. The one about the gazebo blowing down You need to do your research cause just cause it says steel doesn't mean it's going to be the strongest. As for it blowing away that is really sad that you can't handle a tent
We purchased a Coleman Fast patch 14 gazebo from this store Sunday 22nd of December. We purchased this specific gazebo due it it advertising it's steel frame was wind tested to 56kmph. We took it to the beach on Wednesday 25th December and used it for the first time. Set up was relatively easy but first impression was the framing was quite flimsy. Then we put the cover over it and had to scramble to get it sandbagged down as it was acting like a giant wind sail with no exit in the roof for the wind to escape. It was 11kmph winds that day and 1.5 hours after setup, the gazebo lifted 2 feet off the ground also moving the sandbags and flipped/ twisted straight over top of itself, hitting myself and my 10 year old on the way over. A couple of the steel frame pipes were bent and one had completely torn the metal so this part of the framing was now unusable and we had to pack the whole thing away. We called the Waikato Hunting And Fishing store Thursday 26th December at 9am when it opened to explain the situation and request a refund on this product as it was unable to do as advertised and we felt misled by this. Immediately we were met with hostility and gaslit over problem. We were told they would need to send it back to the manufacturer to determine if it was a faulty item or if we were the cause of the product malfunction. We agreed to drive the product back to the store, 1.5 hours from where we live so they were able to inspect it and decide what to do from there. We arrived at the store, the 'manager' took the gazebo out the back to set it up and inspect the damage. He came back to us 20 minutes later to inform us it was 'wind damage' and basically nothing to do with them. I asked how wind damage could be considered our fault when we had it sandbagged the way these things are meant to be when used on the beach and I was told 'you obviously didn't sandbag it correctly'. He then proceeded to tell us that he would contact the manufacturer and see if they would agree to replace the broken part as a 'sign of good faith'. We questioned whether the bent parts would also be replaced and he said 'oh those can just be bent back into place'. He came quite condescending at this point and said to us 'you also stitched us with the pricing on this one' referring to when we first purchased the product and asked them if they priced matched because we had found it cheaper. They agreed to match, had they not we would have purchased from the cheaper store. As you can imagine, as you can imagine, my husband because a little irate at this comment and proceeded in telling him we didn't 'stitch anybody up' we simply asked if they would do it and if they wouldn't then we would have gone elsewhere. The manager then turned around and told us he was 'joking' to which I replied, 'now is definitely not the appropriate time to joke given that we have purchased and are now stuck with a product that does not do as it was advertised to be able to do'. After this he all but pushed us out the door, telling us that we likely won't know what's happening until after the new year because the company is not currently opening he would call us when he had an update. We left and then returned to the store 5 minutes later to take our gazebo with us and will fix the thing ourselves. Al in all,a terrible experience, particularly the way we were treated by the store 'manager' absolutely poor form and we will not be returning to this store.
Ok short story starts at sika show 2024 I brought a scope that failed and needed to be returned so went into this store not happy at all but came away with replacement scope setup on my gun ready to go and a new gun retuned to where I was hunting and landed a deer thank you for going the extra mile you turned a crap hunting trip back to good one great group of people. I just wish the store in my area was as good thank you
Thanks for your help Joe and Troy. I really appreciate it. Will be coming back for more fishing and hunting gears.
