Waikanae Chartered Club

I organised my mother's 80th here. We chose a buffet due to numbers. They were very helpful in giving me choices for buffet and made meals for vegan, and vegetarian guests. I recommend this venue highly.

We had Christmas functions with 2 different groups here - one on Saturday a group of 16 and one on Tuesday a group of 90. The small group function was very good - chef served freshly cooked meat and we self-served the vegetables. The larger group function was poor - reheated and dried meat and rationing of some vegetables and desserts. The menu was the same but the food served to the small group was superior. Also there was a more friendly atmosphere from staff with the small group. We would rank the small group experience as 4 or 5 star and the large group experience as 2 star.

Compliments to the chef, the fish burger I had here was delicious. Nice prawn cocktail too. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Recommended.

Went to a birthday party here and although the meal was very nice it was cold a lot of the problems were due to covid. A nice club and venue no doubt would be better under normal circumstances

Usually visit once a month with a small group after our monthly meetings for a catch up with a meal.Great choice of Bar meals or from a normal menu. Meals are nicely prepared and served by a very pleasant waitress who has got to know us Coffee is also great.Very clean restaurant and plenty of parking

I've recently joined in the last few months and so impressed by the welcoming attitude of all the staff. I take my husband who has late stage early onset Alzheimer's it's one of the few places he relaxes and we can have time out and enjoy a wine together
