Really great place to spend the time in, worth the price and if you want to take some products, are also in there. It's a nice process to go in there.nStart with the introduction about the place and the ritual, to thank surrounding the stone. Continue witht the explanation abou the lockers, showers and how to start.nnThere are sauna rooms, and a salt sauna room, coming in and out from it and the ice room where you shower with cold water. Before exiting there, just rinse your feet, walking into the ice water before entering to the pools.nn3 pools are in there and the thermal ones, the sulphur water come directfly from earth so the smell in there can be really strong. The first pool has a temperature of 30 -31 degrees celcius. The second one is from 39 up to 41 celcius, while the third one, is the ice one, with a temperature of 10 - 12 degrees.nnAfter those ones, you can try the 4th pool which is also 30 degrees with herbal scence in the pool.nnContinuing, you will go to the mud chairs where you will have your mud bath, laying there for as much time as you want, before rinsing yourself with the individual shower before entering the steam room.nnThe experience is unique with an amazing view and they provide with plain water any time you want from the water stations. Food and independent drinks can be bought after the experience.
We had booked online in advance the one hour bathing journey and had a wonderful time. Our checkin was smooth with a Māori introduction before entering the five pools which including hot, cold and jets. All were great and very relaxing. What a wonderful place this is and everything felt very new and modern.nnWe visited the cafe afterwards and enjoyed some hot drinks and some cakes.nnAll in all a great start to our day of exploring Rotorua and highly recommended.
Our group visit to Wai Ariki Hot Springs was a wonderful experience beautifully presented and very well done. The setting and ambience were excellent, with lovely lakeside views and facilities that are mostly under cover, making it a great option all year round, no matter the weather.nnThe entire experience felt calm, relaxing, and thoughtfully designed. The staff were friendly and professional, adding to the sense of care and quality throughout.nnWhile the pricing is on the higher side, it’s understandable given the focus on comfort and the tourist appeal of the location.nnOverall, a very enjoyable and memorable visit highly recommended
We visited Wai Ariki last week and were blown away by the couples package! The 90 minute wellness massage was the best I’ve ever had and the facilities and view were stunning. We loved the thermal baths and private mud baths, and the grazing platter before we left was delicious. The whole morning felt very premium and absolutely worth the price tag! Didn’t take many photos and they definitely don’t do it justice - perfect experience.
Wai Ariki is seriously world class. I did the 2 hour experience and walked out feeling like my nervous system had been rebooted.nnThe sauna is next level. Proper heat, beautifully designed, and deeply relaxing without feeling rushed. The facilities overall are immaculate. Calm, spacious, thoughtful in every detail. Everything just flows, from the changing areas to the pools, so you can actually switch your brain off instead of figuring out where to go next.nnThe whole experience feels premium without being pretentious. It’s grounding, restorative, and genuinely special. If you want real relaxation, not a gimmick spa day, Wai Ariki delivers. One of the best spa experiences I’ve had anywhere.
