The sanctuary retreat was amazing - 3 pools to choose from, 2 are geothermal and heated up to 40 degrees. Looks out towards the lakefront. Then private geothermal bath where you can relax in your own tub with a platter & drink of your choice. You also get some mud to mask yourself with - so fun!, some sea salt & tea bag to add to your bath. Room also has shower with body wash, shampoo & conditioner. Then end your day with wellness massage. The interiors of the spa are gorgeous as well. Highly recommend.
Probably the nicest, cleanest, and most luxurious hot springs experience we’ve ever had!! We went off season so it was super empty and all of the amenities were amazing. Super clean and well maintained. The way they designed the experience to also be symbolic of the local tribes journey to the area was incredible. We did the 2 hour restorative journey, which I highly recommend unless you also plan to get a massage!
Wai Ariki is an absolute gem! The experience feels both luxurious and deeply rooted in cultural grounding. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is calm, refined, and spacious. everything from the design to the scent feels intentional and soothing.nnThe guided journey through the spa rituals, including the geothermal pools, cold plunge, and steam therapies, was seamless and well-paced. I loved how the experience flowed without feeling rushed, allowing time to actually slow down and be present.nnWhat really stood out was the integration of te ao Māori throughout the space, not just in design but in the feeling.nnHighly recommend for anyone wanting a holistic wellness experience that respects culture, whenua, and the art of slowing down.
Truly sensational experience! Enjoyed the Restorative Journey, 7 stages of hot & cold. Loved the cultural aspect, all explained by very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Easy to find location, all still looks very new, though has been open since 2023. For 16+ only. Topped off by lunch at their café. Will definitely return!
Nice place to visit for a relaxing 2 hour spa experience. We went early in the day and had the entire place to ourselves for the most part. All of the facilities are very clean and everything is well explained on arrival how to move thru the restorative process.nWe were provided a robe, towel, and a locker to store our things. The locker room is nice and clean and there are individual showers to clean up in after you finish the experience. Since much is involved at the end it’s nice to have private rooms with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner at the end. They even had a device to wring out bathing suits to take home. Great day!
