Five themed projects offer five unique experiences. I highly recommend visiting this spa as the overall experience is excellent.nnDue to the high price, there are usually not many tourists.nnThe natural hot spring pool is quite limited, with fewer temperature options compared to other hot springs.nnThe entire process lasts two hours, and there will be staff to remind you of the time and guide you to the next project which may create time pressure for some, thinking it's a time limit.nnThe sweat steaming the second project is wonderful; the temperature in the three rooms is very comfortable. You can replenish water at the door, or you can use ice water and ice cubes to cool yourself.nnSteam is the final project, with a very high room temperature. Usually, after the mud spa the fourth project, you wait for the mud to dry before entering the steam room. It is recommended to bring a towel; there is a shower in the room to rinse off and you can wet the towel with ice water to place on your head and cover your mouth and nose, which helps you stay in this room longer.nnAdvantages: Clean, with many spa features including a mud spa. There are lockable wardrobes, towels, and drinking water, as well as shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner.nnCons: Expensive compared to other spas in Rotorua. There is no hair dryer in the men's restroom.nnSummary: This is a premium spa offering a complete experience that is well worth a visit.
We booked a couples package at Wai Ariki and had a lovely, relaxing escape. We went on a weekday and it felt like we were the only visitors for much of our day, which was nice. The pools were relaxing, if a bit dirty due to being outdoors. The private pool was very enjoyable but also had build up or gunk around the water pump outlet. For the exceptional cleanliness in the rest of the facility, I wish the pools were brought up to par as well. Nonetheless, we had a fantastic spa day. The grazing platter in particular was much nicer than we expected, based on experiences from other spas!
A nice geothermal hot spring in Rotorua. It’s a bit up market than the nearby Polynesian hot spring that pretty much catered for family. We didn’t choose wrong. Wai Ariki indeed a right place for relaxation after we had a long walk. We had 2 hours geothermal package for NZ$155. That includes a mud steam experience. Overall, the ambiance, the view and the service are top notch. I’d recommended Wai Ariki.
The restorative journey was a phenomenal experience, my husband and I truly loved every step and felt so refreshed and nourished afterwards. It was amazing to experience the Māori aspects with the beautiful songs subtly in the background when in the sauna and the different types of mineral pools and of course the mud body wrap. We were so glad we could squeeze this in during our wider NZ tour, unfortunately all the treatments were fully booked at the time and we were going to Wellington the next day but I’m sure those would also be worth every penny! We’d go regularly if we were locals and will dearly miss the place when back home in London. The facilities are state of the art and top notch, so it felt a luxurious experience and the staff were all really warm and friendly which made it more special
Amazing! We loved our Restorative journey. Because we came early in the morning, we literally had the whole spa to ourselves which added to our overall luxurios-feel experience. Incredibly relaxing and pampering. We left feeling so great! Do it, you won't regret it. Extra thumbs up for the lovely lady that showed us around, very friendly and informative, made us feel very welcomed. Thank you!
