Incredible geothermal spa experience — 28 natural hot mineral pools to soak and relax in. nnBeautiful lakeside location with peaceful views over Lake Rotorua. nnPerfect for both families and adults — family pools with slides and adult‑only relaxing zones. nnThe mineral waters really helped my muscles unwind and left my skin feeling soft. nnLoved the variety — from thermal pools to private lakeview options. nnFriendly staff and clean facilities made the visit feel easy and enjoyable. nnGreat place to unwind after exploring Rotorua’s geothermal wonders.
Relaxing time at the Polynesian Spa! We pre booked the “Couples Double Dipper Lake View” which included 45 mins in a private soaking pool, complimentary drinks and access to all the various public pools after.nnWe arrived for our check in time. Scanned in & followed the gentleman over. Our lake view dipper was behind a locked door. Upon entering you have a private small soaking pool looking out to the lake with two privacy walls on each side as well as a mini area to leave your items/a rinse off shower. The water was nice & hot. The space you are given is 100% private with the door closed & the side walls. It was a nice space to ourselves. After our session ended there’s a light on the wall that goes red when your time is up so no one has to interfere we stopped in the cafe for a fruit smoothie before trying out the public pools.nnThe colors of the mineral waters is very pretty & relaxing to the body. It was a rainy day but the pools were still very hot & relaxing.nnI am glad we got to enjoy the private spa beforehand as the pools got very busy with crowds. Everyone in the pools were polite & didn’t overcrowd your space but having the private pool to yourself beforehand was a pleasure!nnBeautiful gift shop & cafe as well! We stocked up on mud products & volcanic body products before leaving! Lots of multi pack bundles for savings for tourists
I just booked some time in the pool. I came in thinking it was going to a luxury experience but it had more of a local vibe. Which was lovely. I just wished I had access to a private pool as a solo person.nnThe bathrooms were spacious and you can easily lock personal belongings.nnThe cafe was lovely and I was able to charge my phone. Would go again but maybe book a spa treatment.
Not sure why Google asks me to revie rooms as this is a Spa.This was a recommendation from a local over the other spa and it did not disappoint. We chose the Lake Pavilliom section for adults. There is another section to bring kids which also has the thermal pools. There are 8 pools in the area with different temperatures a d fed from different springs. One is acidic and one is alkaline. All face the lake which is a beautiful and calm environment. There weren't too many people when we went at 3pm in the afternoon but it got busy around 5.30pm with tour buses arriving. It's a good way to experience the the geothermal water. Change rooms are good and you can hire towels and swim suits.
We enjoyed our overall experience at the spa. The adults relaxed with a lovely lake view, and the young ones had fun in the family pool. However, there are a few things to note:nn1. the spa options on the website are confusing. It is actually much easier to understand what is available once you reach the ticket counter.nn2. there is a headcount limit for each pool. If you arrive later in the day, the pool you want may already be full. They do accept advance bookings, so you can reserve your preferred pool days ahead to secure entry.nn3. the family pool is quite small. On the day we visited, it felt overcrowded, almost like dumplings in a pot of hot water, which made it less enjoyable.nn4. the toilets and showers are clean and tidy, and pleasant to use.nn5. the family area only has open shelves for storage. Lockers are available only in the adult spa area.nn6. the Chinese lady at the ticket counter was incredibly helpful and patient. We are very grateful for her assistance. She is truly excellent staff.
