I booked a couples massage quite a few months in advance, I don’t know if that is necessary but I prefer better safe than sorry. My husband and I went early enough to enjoy the pools. One of the staff walked us through all the pools and their benefits and gave us a thorough intro to the spa. He was very kind and I could tell was proud of his work.nThe spa was beautiful, we enjoyed the pools. Then we had lovely relaxing salt scrub and massages, in the double room. Both our masseuses were friendly, professional and good at their jobs!nI enjoyed looking through the shop.nI was unimpressed with the smoothie, in my opinion it’s too watery. But I did enjoy the lemon cake!
The two pools combo is good, you can enjoy different vibes from both sides.and I also like the fresh juice included in the combonSo if you hesitate which one you should go, I would recommend the Pavilion it has more scenic views, but cons is too many people. Deluxe is more hidden the lookout not better than Pavilion, but it has one cold pool to cool down.nAnd even they promote so many pools inside, but mainly just two types of water: alkaline and acid, and temperature between 38-41.nI love the big pool in Pavilion, kind of old school.
During my recent trip to Rotorua, I had the pleasure of visiting the Polynesian Spa. The spa offers both public and private options, and I opted for the private experience. With a limited time of only -/+ 1.5 hours, I was eager to make the most of it.nnThe private pools were an absolute delight. Surrounded by beautiful rock formations and lush greenery, the tranquil setting allowed me to unwind completely. The mineral-rich waters are said to have therapeutic benefits, and I could feel the stress melting away as I soaked in the warm pools. The limited time was just enough to experience the relaxation I needed without feeling rushed.nnFor those who prefer a more social experience, the public pools are a great option. The family pools and adult pools provide a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow travelers and locals. Each pool varies in temperature, allowing you to choose the perfect setting for your comfort.nnAfter my soak, I explored the on-site shop and café. The shop offers a variety of health and beauty products, perfect for bringing a piece of the spa experience home. The café, with its selection of delicious snacks and beverages, provided a lovely end to my visit. Sipping on a refreshing drink while overlooking the stunning Lake Rotorua was the perfect way to wrap up my time at the spa.nnIn conclusion, Polynesian Spa is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Rotorua. Whether you choose the private or public option, you're guaranteed a rejuvenating experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.
We visited the deluxe pools first thing on a week day morning. The pools were well labeled and clean, cold water fountains were easy to find, and the heated beds outside were amazing. We made to try all 5 pools acidic and alkaline and did the cold plunge. It was amazing for my skin and feet. We spent about 1 hour in the pools. The cafe was a big disappointment - mediocre food and watery smoothies. But the spa itself was relaxing and well organized and a lovely way to spend the morning.
Beautiful spot with both the acidic and alkaline hot pools which become progressively warmer. The acidic one was so soothing to the muscles after a busy day.nnWe also did the couples romantic package and enjoyed a beautiful and relaxing massage before being able to enjoy one of the hot pools to ourselves overlooking the lake. We were then able to eat some food and drink at the cafe.nnWas decadent and blissful and highly recommend giving yourself a few hours to enjoy.
