So disappointed.nMaybe it was nice 50 years ago.nThe reality is very different from the promotional photos.nnI booked a lake view via the website. The sky view was reserved in error. I sent many emails back and fourth with duty manager confirming I wanted a LAKE view. On arrival they gave me a “sky view.” Which is basically a concrete bunker with mosquitoes.nThe outside pools are better - but the spa is mostly concrete & plastic, very old and tired.nnMy expectations were obviously off course.nI expected a beautiful experience…in nature.nHence my utter disappointment.nIf you want a top quality Spa, with luxury, serenity and stunning views of the lake - choose WAI ARIKI, around the corner. It’s outstanding. If you want a spa experience in nature - go to Secret Spot Hot Tub Soak Rotorua.nThis spa has less charm than a council swimming pool. I am sorry, but I have no idea how this is the “people’s choice”. Maybe they do good things for the community ?.
Been here 7 years ago and then 2 decades ago and still as good as it can get. This time we had a private lake view experience for 45min and I would recommend to book way in advance as there isn’t many rooms. This time we go here and they didn’t provide us with the biggest room instead 2 room but after a few word and managed to get the biggest room instead room as it was vacant after it was free. It has renovated since the last time we came and it looks a lot better. Great for the skin for sure and will come back very soon.
Come here first thing in the morning before it gets busy/hot, and while it's still nice and quiet! We did the soak and a massage and it was a lovely experience. However things were tainted a bit at the cafe afterward with an allergy scare, as the staff didn't pay enough attention to serious food allergies! I hope they get better at that!
Two of us showed up without a reservation at 11:15am on a Friday. We weren’t sure which experience we wanted to book so we asked for some insight from the front desk and received very helpful guidance, selecting the Lake Baths due to the views and inclusion of towels and lockers. We were not disappointed.nnDespite being a family-friendly area, there was only one child and not many other visitors in general. The pools all offer different views of the lake and each was serene and relaxing. The heated lounge chairs were better than expected, offering the best views in this section of the premises and acting as a great way to break up time in the hot pools.
We visited the spa to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of towels and access to hair dryers etc in the changing area. Beautiful views from the pools. Thoroughly enjoyed the massages and delicious food, smoothies and juices.
