The School is justly proud of its international reputation for research, and clinical and academic excellence from a team of staff who are at the leading edge of their profession.

The Faculty is also fortunate to be able to attract many internationally renowned scholars, who either choose to spend part of their leave period undertaking research at the School, or who are invited under the auspices of the Faculty's Professional Development Committee. I was booked in for emergency treatment, I hardly had a chance to full out the forms, when a lovely technician greeted me on time and escorted me to the surgery area, where I had almost a 40min consultation and x-rays.As it was so late in day I was booked in for the following day.Dr Binnie was sooo gentle and calming....I had 2 injections, then my tooth pulled and I honestly didn't feel a thing, never thought I would be able to say I was walking on cloud nine, coming out of a dentist
I went there and they were so polite and they made me feel really comfortable before they pulled out my tooth
I've tried multiple times to make a formal complaint, however have still yet to even have any acknowledgement... Both in person and email. It's not good enough.
Have had a few teeth removed from this dental school. Very happy with the results and how quick they get me in to be seen.
Great team here. Can't talk highly enough about them.
I would like to thank my team of students that i met on Wednesday 4/8/21 and Friday 6/8/21. I had consultation from a nice young female student, they were on time with no confusion about what the plan was. Appointments were made for 2 days time for a filling and 2 extractions. I came back friday and again they were on time with no waiting around. The filling was first which was a huge hole by the way, the student was very gentle and thorough with regular check ups and minimal assistance from the tutor and then went straight through to have 2 teeth extracted by 3 students which were all very friendly, talkative and professional. There was no complications and no pain and also minimal assistance from their tutor too. Overall a great experience! Thank you all so much!
On Tuesday went in for oral surgery. To remove base of wisdom tooth. Nigel tan was my dentist. Lauren was his nurse. Nigel was informative about the procedure and what aftereffects I might have. Needed 3 needles of local anesthetic , procedure took over an hour, but Nigel explained everything throughout. I felt quite relaxed as a result. His nurse was friendly and we had a chat about the west coast cycle trails. Overall this was a good visit. I highly recommend the dental school for its care, professionalism, and follow up care. Went back for checkup to see how things were progressing today, and left with peace of mind that everything was healing nicely.
They seem like a competent bunch of dentists and dental care professionals until they get a major problem to try and fix!,they’ve had 3 goes all trying to fix my problem and have only made it worse and more unbearable, but at times if you have a major problem etc they seem to be a bit blasé about your problem especially when it’s effecting your quality of life,it’s like they push you towards suicidal thoughts then wait weeks for them to decide what to do next!. It’s as if they realise they’ve done a hash up job and won’t be able to fix it again so a person can even eat properly now without your gums bleeding and in continuous pain, they’re definitely not as good as they claim to be and that’s from first hand knowledge,I feel that they should work a lot closer with the hospital ! Perhaps ?, one thing that is very obvious as it being an expensive course in medicine there are far too many foreigners working down there that don’t understand the NZ way of life?,I’m not being racist but being honest!. Another thing is after many operations and they don't get it fixed they just give up so I find some of the staff very incompetent! They've ruined my life! I can no longer eat steak, hamburgers or anything else that’s hard because they’ve ruined my gums!.
Only giving a 3 star due to recently coming in for a tooth extraction, friendly people. Meanwhile the dentist accidentally cut my gum next to my tooth that got an extraction. It is a bit sore and it's been 5 days but this is what happens when people are in so much pain and desperate to get a tooth extraction as most dentists are expensive. I just believe some of these dentists needs to be more careful and observe more in what they are doing
I'm very dissapointed by the lack of correspondence and misinformation I received from people employed at this organisation. I first had an appointment in Aug 2019 and was told they would see me but the start of the new semester, early 2020. Now I realise there would be a delay, due to Covid 19, and fully understood. But after waiting 11 months on their waiting list for treatment I called them today only to be told there is a two year waiting list now. I think they could have at least sent me a message to let me know all positions had been filled and there would be a wait. Common courtesy!
