Sashimi is in good quality, one of best in Christchurch. Sukiyaki is very sweet.nAnd my favourite is the crème brûlée, which is amazing!
This has to be my favourite Japanese in Christchurch. Recently went for a family dinner of 14 and the staff were excellent! Everyone at the table raved about the food and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend the nigiri and crab sushi- we kept ordering more because it was so delicious!
If you’re looking for a good Japanese dinner place, this would probably disappoint you. At least for us — having been to Japan for the past three years in a row — it fell very disappointing.nnThe drinks menu was good, especially the wider sake selection. Some entrées were nice, such as the pickles and takoyaki.nnHowever, the beef tataki was more like a brisket cut rather than a tender cut; the tempura was greasy and bland; the beef in the sukiyaki was completely overcooked and very chewy, and there was no raw egg yolk dipping sauce. The duck was just okay.nnThe service was fast and efficient.
Great lunch menu - we especially loved the katsu don. Nicely battered, juicy on the inside, sweet and savoury sauce!
I visited your restaurant today and felt that one of the male staff members was not very friendly. I don’t mind whether he is a manager or a regular staff member, but he could have behaved much better in terms of his tone, facial expressions, and manner when speaking to customers.nThe rest of the service met the expected standard — taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables were all done as they should be. However, his attitude and tone when interacting with customers were very disappointing. At one point, his reaction could even be described as overly reactive when I was trying to explain my order while paying. Although he was looking at the screen to find my details, he could have communicated in a much more polite and professional way.nI did not appreciate his tone or manner, and I do not think it is acceptable to receive this kind of service, especially when I paid $73 for a meal for one person. My details may be quite specific and identifiable, but I do not mind, as I am genuinely dissatisfied with the service I received. He could have been more courteous — if he is not suited to customer service, he should consider a different role.nThis was my first time dining at your restaurant, and unfortunately, it will also be my last due to this experience. The food itself was average compared to other Japanese restaurants in Christchurch, but what stood out negatively was the service. I have never experienced this kind of service at other Japanese restaurants before.
