Wow we are so lucky to have this great Japanese restaurant open in our neighbourhood. The food was amazing, some of the best Japanese that I have ever had. The staff were super nice and efficient. The restaurant itself was clean, welcoming and had a great vibe as it’s quite cosy. I would recommend booking ahead as people were getting turned away for just rocking up. So 5 stars, any less and it’s not the restaurant it’s the reviewer
I don’t know where to start this review, and have very mixed feelings about the dining experience.nnI had high expectations based on many great reviews, but unfortunately it ended with some disappointment.nnThe service and vibe were great. We particularly enjoyed two dishes we ordered Takoyaki balls and Sizzling Yakisoba noodles. The Japanese drinks were good too.nnHowever some dishes really need some improvement, as they were either bland or not well-seasoned and sauced. We have visited Japan in the past two years and have been to many restaurants, from top award-winning places to locally popular Izakaya there, as well as some good ones in South Island.nnI have to say this restaurant has great potential but so far it is just not as great as other guests have reviewed.
Really awesome authentic Japanese we stumbled across. Quite a small space but very quick and friendly service. Prices reasonable. Good range of options. Yakisoba, ebi mayo & po po were our favs!
So good to see a restaurant open locally in a recently vacated site. To have this one is A Treat indeed. Small and cozy but perfectly formed with a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Beautifully curated menu offering a wide and tasty choice of Japanese and Korean, Asian style food. Table of 5, all different dishes. All happy. Very acceptable wait time. Charming and knowledgeable wait staff... friendly and cheerful but not overbearing. Good drinks menunWill definitely be a favourite!!
Nice service, and good amount of food plus reasonable price. I really like to go there, only downside is that we need to eat wee quickly because of the next reservation otherwise very nice restaurant.
