The TRSS Kindergarten is a very special place. Our daughter's teachers model deep listening with patience and tenderness. Working with rhythms of the day and the week, and seasonal cycles of the year, they support our children in forming a deep relationship to nature, and in the process discover who they are and their place in the world. We can only hope that all children experience the healing effect of being truly listened to and nurtured in this way.
We are so grateful for the amazing experience our 6-year-old is having at Titirangi Steiner School! The way they nurture creativity and imagination is incredible, and their focus on hands-on learning aligns so well with our values. The Ngahere program, which gives the kids access to nature, has been such a highlight—our son is thriving in this environment. Watching him grow through the Steiner philosophy, with its beautiful emphasis on nature, play, and creativity, has been such a joy!
Our children have blossomed in the early childhood environment here. Guided by kaiako deeply attuned to children’s developmental needs, they’ve been encouraged to test their own limits, connect with nature, explore their creativity and begin to develop a sense of who they are as human beings in the world. The daily and seasonal rhythms that imbue this education create a sense of security and self-confidence, and the warmth of community fosters a feeling of belonging. Our journey from Pēpi Aroha, with unhurried mornings in the company of other parents while tamariki play, through Nursery and finally to Kindergarten, where farewells from the “waving platform” begin the day, has been deeply meaningful to our whānau. And the freshly baked buns are loved by all!
Our children have been going to this amazing school since they were three years old and our eldest is eighteen now so fifteen years now. They have grown to be caring, curious, inspirational, smart, positive and ready to take on the world.
This school is a wonderful place to educate our children. We have been a part of the school community now for many years. The holistic approach to childhood development and education makes a huge difference to what your children can get out of this school. I highly recommend checking out this fantastic facility as a place for your child/children to come and learn in an awesome learning environment.
