Kelston Girls' College

KGHS is NOT a school I would recommend for anyone. My daughter was neglected by the staff members when she felt sick on Oct 26th 2023. After asking numerous staff members after lunch if they could call home for her she didnt have her phone on her they all said No! her last class she asked her teacher and she said to No and to wait last class if the day. My daughter felt worse and ran to the bathroom and passed out with vomit everywhere and her teacher Mrs Yandall-Vaega didn’t even notice she was missing for the whole hour! She was found after the school bell rung by 3 girls. My daughter was meant to be in the “care” and “safety “ of the school but instead that day she was neglected by 3 teachers including the nurse!! her cry, her pain wasn’t taken seriously. After being rushed to hospital we found out she had a brain bleed and had to undergo surgery. If you do enrol your daughter at the school I highly recommend that she has a cellphone on her for safety reasons. But after what my family especially my daughter has experienced I wouldn’t risk the life of my daughter in the schools hand ever again nor would I recommend the school to anyone. Also Principal has been trying to sweep my complaint regarding the staff and the negligence of my daughter under the rug since I bought it up to her. I think because we are islanders she thinks I will drop it and move on.nnUpdate: BOT got involved and issued an apology on behalf of those involved but still no sincere Apology directly from the staff involved. As soon as I mentioned to the principal I was going to the media she decided to get a “third party” contractor Peter Gall from what I hear is a good friend of the principal to conduct an investigation. All I got to say is that they have the resources to hide behind and if you have to hide then something definitely aint right. Maybe its time they get there house straightened out.
