Glen Eden Intermediate School

I have been at this school and I am extremely happy that I have left, many teachers at this school have given most students a hard time. You would think the students would do most of the bullying but no, that would be wrong. One teacher that was teaching enrichment class, called a brown student a racial stereotype. This teacher has talked to her students about how she does not want to compete in Maori activities or cultural events, another teacher would target students and antagonize them. One thing I did like was the music department, most teachers would scream their heads off at you for the most harmless thing; this could make your child scared or even ashamed to go to school. Also the school is dirty and they should try there best to clean and fix the bathrooms. Because I have found food poo wee and weird substances on the floor of the bathrooms. some students even try to break down the stalls andnthrow food at you why you are in the bathroom. So if you want a happy environment for your child to learn in, please choose another intermediate.

Both my kids went to this school, Education is quite good if you’re in the Enrichment class, otherwise is alright. This year the school has made a lot of mistakes in their system, they have failed to send permission slip to some parents for some school activities, and also they have forgotten to put my daughter name into the year book in one of the curriculum that she had involved., I’ve emailed school, they only said has been done by the mistake, and no one is willing to fix anything, It’s totally not a fair thing to do!

Just as a quick side note, I am a student leader here so this review is defiantly biased.nnFrom my personal experience all staff are awesome, yes some may be a bit strict but apart from that their actions always seem to be well justified and thought out. The outstanding staff in the team are, Ms Narayan, Miss Tubert, Ms Klee, Mr Pritchard, Mr D and Miss Hancock.nnThe students at this school are a bit of a mixed bag. Some of them run around screaming their heads off, while most others are just normal people who want the day to be over and done with. My best advice for people coming to this school is to get involved, join a sports team, get into a spec ako, try to be a student leader, you won't do anything if you don't put your hand up.nnFinally, the school facilities are mostly good. Some of the classrooms could be better but it looks like their working on that.nSports facilities are awesome, turf, gym, pool, all are well resourced and up to scratch. Last up, the Kai at the tuck shop, FANTASTIC.nnOver all the school has done a good job at making this place an enjoyable experience for most students.

Great place, my son Timmy loves it there! He went as captin underpants once and was sent home, but in general i love how the school takes great precautions! Amazing! Great service and communication with teachers!!

GEIS is a wonderful school, you can make many friendly friends in this school! As a student, I would love to say that this school is wonderful. But some of the kids in GEIS are being really mean, I think this school needs to correct this aspect.
