The Verandah Cafe & Function Centre

Today, we stopped by the playground because the weather was nice but I'm really worried about our experience at the café. I can't comment on the menu since the kitchen closed at 3pm but I've got several concerns. I wanted to order from the cabinet food but the staff told me they couldn't sell it because it was 3pm so only chips and wedges were available, which was confusing. I thought the kitchen closing didn't mean the cabinet food would be unavailable. It was frustrating to have to keep asking staff about cabinet options, especially when they had a trainee working the counter during peak Saturday hours. In the end, we did manage to get a sausage roll, chips and an almond croissant, but when the croissant arrived, it was so hard to cut because it had been over microwaved. I'm feeling quite upset with this and the whole experience. I really hope the business owner sees our review and considers to improve that. If the shop closes at 4pm, the kitchen should ideally close at 3.30pm not 3pm. It just doesn’t make sense, especially since they have a great playground and beautiful lake views outside the café—surely, they could do better.

What the plastic?! Wonderful location. But plastic coffee cups, that’s a first, and hopefully a last. Who drinks coffee from a plastic cup. Toddlers drink from plastic, adults drink from glass or ceramic, unless I’m camping of course. The food was okay, no relish with big breakfast, sourdough was chewy, otherwise the rest was good, but nothing amazing about it. Won’t be coming back anytime soon.

If you are on the rush or just want to have a bite. This isn't the place for you. NO AIR CON. in the premises. $ 8 ... muffins, 20 minutes waiting in line, and 20 more, at least, of waiting for your food.nNot a single smile on none of the stuff member. The food is ABSOLUTELY OVER PRICE!nSO.. I do not recommend it at ALL . Especially if you are a tourist....this place doesn't represent the services that you can find around.

A lovely place to meet up with friends after a walk around the lake, or perfect for Mum’s with kids as the playground is right next door! Food is good too, though would be great to have a few more vegan/GF options

Great for big groups, families etc. Nice coffee,food and friendly Staff. Love how they also have a ice cream kiosk on the side and outdoor seating
