The Mill House

The food was great here. We had the duck and pork belly. Both had lovely sauces and vege sides. Decent portions and fast, friendly service.

Food tasted like it had freezer burn or something was off. The coleslaw was extremely bitter but apart from that, tasteless no flavour besides bitter. Good beer selection and they do offer happy hour which is good. The thick chips were pretty good but the rest of food was subpar. I wouldn’t go there to eat again.

We called in for lunch and chose from the lunch special menu main with a starter or dessert for $40. We both had the tarakihi beer battered. Fillets were a long slice of the fillet, but they were fresh and tasty. Garlic bread was yum and the Sticky date pudding was massive! Very nice too. Great service as well.

Ordered a Breakfast meal and it was pretty nice, not the best for the price but it was nice. My partner ordered a drink and there was lipstick on his glass as if it hadn't been cleaned The Atmosphere is awesome, the service from the waitress was great

I had lunch here with a friend last week. I ordered the seafood chowder and my friend had a salad with pumpkin and feta. Now I’m very much a self professed seafood chowder snob, it takes a lot to impress me. The seafood chowder was, hands down, one of the best seafood chowders I’d had in a long time. The chowder itself was flavourful, and full of delicious seafood and not a marinara mix. It had calamari, scallops, prawns and mussels in their shells. Delicious! I can’t wait to go back again. My friend said her salad was delicious, and from the looks of it, it had plenty of salady goodness in it. The coffee was delicious too! Totally recommend visiting The Mill House.
