The Hotel Nelson

They bouyed up our stay and added a layer of fun. Double rooms upstairs are well situated and get lovely morning sun. Room had been unused for a while and was freezing upon arrival. Old heat pumpntook hours to get it warm. 2 more extra blankets were needed to the beds. Wonderful meal at the restaurant and great service.

I would like to thank the staff for being very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, reasonably priced. Very handy to hospital and shops. Would definitely stay again.

We came down to Nelson for the weekend with my family and stayed at The Nelson Hotel, and it was a fantastic choice.nWe booked a one-bedroom apartment that can sleep up to four people, but there were just three of us, so it felt spacious and comfortable. We were especially drawn to this room because of the spa tub — and it did not disappoint. The apartment was clean, well set up, and very comfortable, perfect for a relaxing weekend away.nThe staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better. Having room service available was a big plus, and the on-site restaurant, Flames on Forty, was excellent — great food and super convenient.nThe hotel also has a pool, and it’s in a great location, very close to the city centre. You can easily walk into town, which made getting around hassle-free.nOverall, it was a relaxing, comfortable stay with everything we needed. I’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in Nelson. Highly recommended!

Such a disappointment staying at The Hotel Nelson. Entering from the road, you are treated to a modern establishment with a gorgeous reception. That's where the quality ends. We stayed in a double room with kitchen and balcony. Kitchen well stocked with utensils. The room was very dated although the furnishings were contemporary. Carpet was stained but was otherwise clean. Lots of cracking and chipped paint on doors and surfaces. The shower was a combined bath with mould across the seals, although the supplied body soaps and lotions were fantastic. Beds and pillows were comfortable, as was the heating. We had a breakfast at the onsite restaurant and experienced good service but overpriced and ordinary food. If The Hotel Nelson spent just as much on the rooms as they did the exteriors and reception it would be worth the money. This is just 3 stars at best. Good for overnight? Yes. Worth the money? No.
