The Hotel Nelson

We were here for 1 night booked by the cycling company and then 2 nights 5 days later that we booked after directly with the hotel . Most of the rooms looked lovely with balconies and little table / chairs outside . The first room we were in was under a cement car park right across from the restaurant where lights shone in all night . We had breakfast at the restaurant and although our eggs and toast where good we never got our coffees server still tried to charge us for them took forever and we think she was mad that we did not want to have the buffet. Server was on her phone the whole time and when another server started we had to ask her where our eggs were .nI asked the desk to give us a different room when we came back with an outside deck and no bright lights .nOur next room was the furthest away upstairs in the conference room , very dated , no pictures on the walls , no outside patio, very hot only one small window that opened only a couple inches overlooking the garbage and a semi truck in the alley right outside the window that started both mornings at 3 am . Would not recommend this hotel to anyone .

We came down to Nelson for the weekend with my family and stayed at The Nelson Hotel, and it was a fantastic choice.nWe booked a one-bedroom apartment that can sleep up to four people, but there were just three of us, so it felt spacious and comfortable. We were especially drawn to this room because of the spa tub — and it did not disappoint. The apartment was clean, well set up, and very comfortable, perfect for a relaxing weekend away.nThe staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better. Having room service available was a big plus, and the on-site restaurant, Flames on Forty, was excellent — great food and super convenient.nThe hotel also has a pool, and it’s in a great location, very close to the city centre. You can easily walk into town, which made getting around hassle-free.nOverall, it was a relaxing, comfortable stay with everything we needed. I’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in Nelson. Highly recommended!

Good, clean accommodation with very spacious rooms. Some rooms closer to the road can be a little noisy as they’re not double glazed, but overall it’s a comfortable place to stay. The on-site restaurant is great and very convenient. It will definitely remain my go-to for work travel.

The Hotel Nelson is a good choice to stay when in Nelson. The staff at check in was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is well located and within a short walk Nelson City centre can be reached. We stayed in the “Studio Kitchen”. The room was very clean and comfortable with two big beds, a separate kitchen with big fridge and a bathroom. The room has air conditioning, which is very comfortable in the hot summer days. Since we stayed in the studio we didn’t use the hotel restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Our room was spotless and super comfortable, honestly couldn’t fault it. Everything was clean, quiet at night, and the beds were amazing. Even the windows were sparkling clean! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and overall it felt like great value for money.nnThe only downside for us was the location. It’s not that close to the city centre, so we had to rely on Ubers or hire a car to get around. For our first time in Nelson, that made things a bit less convenient.nnI wouldn’t recommend the hotel restaurant on site. It was pricey and had some hidden costs. There’s a $10 room service charge even if you pick up your own order, which I found quite odd.nnIt would also be nice to have a few small extras in the bathroom like cotton buds or a shower cap, just those little touches that make a difference.nnOverall, a lovely, very clean and comfortable stay, just a few small tweaks away from being perfect.
