Rutherford Hotel Nelson

A lovely hotel, has awesome early breakfast from 5.30am. Comfy beds, good sized rooms and well located up beside the Cathedral.nRestaurant is higher end and food matches.

In my experience, the best place overall to stay in Nelson. Very good location, rooms have no obvious faults. I did order a steak rare and it arrived medium via room service but I would definitely stay here again - thank you.

As tour leader of a British holiday group trip, I couldn't fault the staff and hotel. From the warm welcome, an unexpected welcome drink, great service from the reception staff and bar staff, through to the lovely food in the restaurantnNice, well equipped rooms too. I would definitely reccommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Rutherford Hotel during a four day conference. The hotel was the perfection venue for a gathering of more than 200 people. The spacious rooms made the auditorium/theatre perfect for presentations and then quickly turned into a comfortable room for a banquet dinner.nAll the staff were super helpful, friendly and obliging to meet our needs - which were many. We couldn't fault the food and service, absolutely superb.nI would highly recommend the hotel as a perfect place for couples and families to stay, as well as for a business event, big or small. Thank you.

Whilst the hotel lobby looks ok the rooms are old and tired looking, with a bit of a smell. Our room was just above several noisy extractor fans on a roof. Not a nice view. Curtains old. Not worth what you pay for. Needs refurbishment
