My absolutely favorite place in Akaroa! The best chai latte I've had in NZ, mozzarella ciabatta, eggs bene, pad thai, teriyaki salmon, desserts... Pad thai is better here than I've found in Thailand! The atmosphere here is so cosy, with friendly owners, staff and doggies . It's good spot to just enjoy the slow morning with the book and coffee, meet your friends to play some board games bananagrams! or organise birthday party - checked it all . You can realy feel that the heart of the town beats here. The Common - I love you!
Talk about save the best til' last!nExcellent, friendly service, nothing was too much trouble, our numerous questions answered, with warmth and good humour. The food was simply the best we've had on our travels across NZ. The Thai seafood salad to share as a starter followed by the Larb salad with salmon and the Thai beef salad, excellent flavours, and beautifully cooked. A special thanks to Judit, DM, Brynn our waitress and font of all knowledge and chef Pop.
Lovely place with nice meals and friendly staff. Have a variety of meals suitable for different guests. Music isn't too loud and price range is very reasonable.
Really fast service.nFood looks really good, my salmon loaded 'Common bennie' had loads of salmon, pretty much perfect eggs, the toasted bagel was pretty nonedescript, and only a smidgen of spinach.nHollandaise sauce..again pretty average.nMy flat white was as is frequently the case Ok flavour wise but too much froth on the top.
The food is so tasty here and even the apple juice tastes better. A really lovely place to come for breakfast/brunch. Special mention of the wall of dog photos.
