I had a very disappointing experience at The Cheesecake Shop Rototuna on 12th February. I ordered a Belgium Marble cake and paid extra to have writing added on top. The staff member took the cake out the back and rushed the decoration without asking me any questions about how I wanted it done.nnShe never asked what colour glazing I preferred. When she brought the cake out, she had written on it in bright orange, which looked completely wrong on a white cake. Normally you would expect staff to check with the customer before choosing a colour.nnWe initially walked out but quickly realised she had never asked us for our preference, so we went back in to politely ask why orange was used. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or offering to fix it, the staff member was very rude and said nothing could be done because it would “ruin the cake.” She then told us that if we wanted it changed, we would have to buy another cake.nnIt was extremely frustrating because the mistake happened due to poor communication from the staff member, yet there was no effort made to resolve the issue. The customer service was honestly some of the rudest I’ve experienced. Very disappointing.
I got a vegetarian Black Forest cake from Rototuna brunch. As soon I got in my car I saw the cake it was not very presentable it was sinking a bit and leaning to one side… I went straight to them complaining about it … they didn’t want to accept that it was how the cake was and I haven’t done anything to it in a minute to change it… the girl said that I have to pay again to purchase another cake … I already paid $66…She said it’s was my responsibility to see the cake before taking it but she only showed me the good looking side not the side with faults.nI honestly didn’t want to go to this store but I had to as I couldn’t find any eggless cakes elsewhere. I have had bad experiences before of getting stale smelling and tasting cakes. Also a customised cake which I bought for my daughter from them 2 years ago. Had the same leaning issue… I thought they might have changed but as I know now they haven’t… I am not going there anymore … the staff was also rude….. claiming that nothing was wrong with the cake at all which was wrong … I think they don’t understand that they ruin a persons birthday if they are not happy with their birthday cake especially kids …
The Cheesecake Shop in Hamilton, New Zealand, is a popular dessert destination known for its wide selection of cakes, particularly cheesecakes. With two locations—one in Rototuna and the other on Ulster Street—it caters to both locals and visitors looking for sweet treats for birthdays, celebrations, or just a casual indulgence.nnThe menu features a variety of options, including classic favorites like the New York Baked Cheesecake and indulgent mudcakes, as well as vegan-friendly alternatives such as the Vegan Passionfruit Cheesecake. Prices are fairly reasonable considering the size and quality of the cakes, with most whole cakes ranging from $40 to $55.nnCustomer experiences, however, tend to be mixed. Many people praise the friendly staff and the consistently delicious taste of the cakes, particularly highlighting the freshness and generous portions. The Ulster Street location, in particular, receives positive feedback for its attentive service and well-presented cakes.nnOn the other hand, there have been some negative experiences reported, especially from the Rototuna branch. Common complaints include incorrect cake decorations, delayed or unready orders, and instances of cakes not tasting fresh. Some customers have also noted that the communication could be improved, especially for custom or online orders.nnDespite the occasional hiccup, The Cheesecake Shop remains a go-to place for reliable, tasty desserts in Hamilton. Their convenient ordering system, including delivery options through third-party apps, makes it easy for customers to enjoy their cakes at home or for special events. While it’s a good idea to double-check order details in advance, especially for important occasions, the overall experience is enjoyable for those with a sweet tooth. Whether you're celebrating a birthday or simply craving something rich and creamy, this shop has plenty to offer.
Best cakes in the area, we bought few cakes and they were made with love and perfection, great customer service skills at checkout and amazing Baking skills. Value for Money
I purchased a Black Forest torte. Unfortunately, the cake was hard and lacked flavor, suggesting it may have been stale. It appeared as though it had been baked two to three days prior, indicating that it was not fresh at all.
