This place is for seafood lovers and those wanting to try something different/new. We came down from auckland and got a range of things. I was surprised to see how affordable they were. With the most expensive being the large Kina pie, $14.50.nnI have never tried cooked kina before and was not a fan, but it was still fun to try. Loved the paua and scallop pie the most. Wasn't keen on the cooked oyster pie either, but I'm glad I tried it. The pausami pie was good, and so was the seafood. Love how they didn't all have the same gravy/creamy sauce inside. They all had their own taste to them. Raw fish didn't have lemon and has capsicum, which I personally didn't like. But some people do love it this way.nnIt's definitely worth checking out if you love seafood and you're down this way.
Best Hamilton bakery on the west side. Amazing range and quality of pies. Friendly staff and tidy store. Very popular as you will see when you accidentally end up there on the school run.
Had the Eighty 8 burger and paua pie. The pie had decent flavour, more cream sauce than paua, but it is what it is. Nice pie. The Eighty8 burger was really good, just the meat patty was not in house made. Could tell it was a supermarket patty. Would definitely be 5 star if home made patty. In saying that, I would recommend. Good feed in Hamilton. ps burger has fried chicken added to it in pic
Palusami Pie was my favorite & the Garlic Prawn pie was my 2nd favorite, pastry of the pies were real delicious & fresh, highly recommended this place to them seafood lovers.
Got the paua fries. And paua pie, paua was OK taste wise but lacked flavour was a tad to bland for me , out of the two the paua pie was better, the chips gave me a sore stomach and they also lacked salt so wasn't that nice. 2.5star rate wouldn't drive 40mins out to come here just for this place, but if im in the area will definitely drop in.
