Built in 1906 as the Nelson Rowing Club, The Boathouse is today run as a club and is open to the public as a lunch cafe (Wed, Thurs, Fri), Friday evening live music venue, Function venue & Community hall. Nelson's finest waterfront view, delicious affordable food, locally sourced Tap beers and bottled wine - all with our stunning view of the harbour and mountain backdrop.

Top place for coffee and food.

What an awesome venue. Saw a fantastic, top quality show there last night. I so appreciate the good food, great atmosphere, party vibe and good local music available in Nelson. Definitely recommend. Try some new music, you won't be disappointed.

What a lovely place to sit a relax. Will be so nice in summer to relax on the deck over looking the stunning nelson waters. Glass of wine and nibbles maybe..the boat house do amazing nibbles. What more could you ask for..

A great lunch that ticked all the boxes.

Food was not good, the pasta was too spicy hot and tasted like it was heated up and not freshly made, plates cold, staff friendly but rushed us so they could do the dishes. Overall, would not be in a hurry to go back. Had a great view and liked the jazz music.
