Te Huia was established in 2009 by Arrowtown locals Delvine Wallace & Bruce Gibbs who also own WoolPress Arrowtown next door. Named after the famed New Zealand bird, the store has been purpose designed to display luxury New Zealand products from fashion to jewellery and furnishings to skincare. Like the Huia feather, the clothing and products are unique and precious.
As well as stocking only New Zealand made products, Te Huia makes a conscious effort to choose brands that are environmentally responsible. A great example of this is Native World, a high quality knitwear brand which is involved in the "Kiwi Recovery Programme" a programme based in Roturua New Zealand that is dedicated to the preservation of New Zealand's unique icon - the kiwi.
New to Te Huia is a store within a store concept housed upstairs on the mezzanine floor and dedicated to Canada Goose and Untouched World.
