Tauranga Hospital Emergency Room

Absolutely appalled with the unprofessional nature of this emergency. After travelling from out of town 35mins to get there I wasn’t triaged by anyone for an hour. Other people who came in after me were triaged. So about 6 other patients were seen then finally I got to see someone. But after sitting in waiting area for 6 hrs with my 7yr old daughter who had severe school sores/lesions from top of her thighs downnI was told there is only two doctors innBut many others were being seen children baby’s going on and being seen but my child wasn’t not even for two minutes of a doctors timenNo one had any information of wait time or what was going on there is no organisation or system in place no doctors or specialistsnI needed antibiotics for my daughter and also dressings or a referral to a paediatrician or skin specialist excess doctornnBut instead we were told we are at the botttom of the list- but that list is getting smaller and they couldnt even say how many more people were before us either? Just nothing so after being there from 830pm until 3am I decided to just take my child home sore and sick and covered in leg sores sad and angry is an understatement of what I was feeling

Extremely disappointing experience at Tauranga Hospital ER. Waited 7 hours on Sunday, May 19th, and only saw a head nurse who provided a knee brace and crutches without proper examination or diagnosis. No doctor sighting! Returned on Tuesday, May 21st, after being assured by an orthopedic doctor that I'd be seen straight away, but was again made to wait and eventually left without seeing a doctor. Unacceptable wait times, unprofessional conduct, and lack of proper care. Frustrating, concerning, and inhumane conditions. Patients deserve better

Came in with Rib pain so bad I was almost sick, they made me sit in the waiting room for 6 hours with only Panadol. where I was passed out from the pain the whole time.nI finally got seen by a doctor, only for them to give me a quick ultrasound where they didn’t even touch the sore rib, throw painkillers at me and quickly discharge me.nThe painkillers barely touch the pain, I’m still in extreme pain writing this. Never go here.

Youll have a shorter wait and better standard of care driving to Whakatane, its not the staffs fault, they're just not equipped to care for the 150,000 people that live in Tauranga.

Worst hospital with the worst staff sat here for 3 hours with my 4 year old to be sent away and told to go elsewhere as was not an emergency when he was having an allergic reaction rash all over body in destress wouldn’t trust these people with my children’s health again formal complaint has been made
