Sunday Cantina

We went for Friday night dinner. Food was delicious, staff so friendly and helpful. We thought there was live music in the evenings but must have misheard. . We had steak Sammy, Quesidilia, pizza and Taco's. Soo good. Cocktails were yum too. Lovely evening of cocktails and laughs. Would go back to sample more taste delights off the menu

Terrible experience over Easter weekend. Food was horrible and took over 40 minutes to arrive. We complained and received a measly $12.50 refund on a meal that cost over $100.nI appreciate that public holidays are busy times, but it’s probably best to ensure that you can staff a public holiday before opening, to avoid unhappy customers.nWe were only told about how long the wait on the food was, after we had finished ordering. Waitstaff only asked us for drinks order once and we were with small children but this wasn’t taken into consideration by the waitstaff when she took our orders. The only positive was that the kids food came out quickly, but they had finished by the time our meals came out.nThe salad I got was disgusting. Far too much dressing and no mention of onion being part of the meal. Caesar Salads don’t have onion… I’m intolerant to onion & obviously couldn’t send it back to the kitchen because who knows how long it would have taken to get a replacement. The fries were also horrible and we left them at the front counter.nOne of the wait staff seemed away with the fairies and was completely unfriendly & unhelpful.nSuch a disappointing experience for people visiting from out of town. Don’t bother with this place anymore

I had such a nice visit! The staff were really warm and welcoming, and the service was spot-on. Plus, the food was absolutely delicious—everything was so full of flavour. I’ll definitely be back!

Visitors to Kapiti coast from Auckland for the week and arrived at cafe by bicycle, wanting an outdoor area to have a late lunch. Welcomed by the manager and staff on entry, and ordered what were generous and healthy meals. Friendly and efficient service. Little things like ensuring tables wiped, cabinet food was covered, and water brought to table show this is a well run place. Will definitely return when in the area!

Cute little cafe with nice homemade juice and coffee. However - I paid $26.50 for a ‘Budda bowl’ which was mainly just a box of lettuce with three bits of halloumi which were nicely cooked. There were also some canned chickpeas and olives, a few small bits of cucumber and tomato and some tasteless puréed avocado. See the photo. I’d had a dig around as I was expecting something else underneath, so it was of course slightly nicer presented. Nothing really had any flavour, no herbs etc some oily dressing on top and it would literally take minutes to assemble with very little care. Definitely an overpriced and glorified side salad. The cherry on top - the lettuce had an aphid on it which normally wouldn’t bother me but when that was the main ingredient it could at least be washed properly. We also got a bagel and it was incredibly oily, sitting in a literal pool of oil. Very disappointing.
