I ordered Pork Chop Special Rice $18 and Char Kuey Teow$17 from Lunch menu. The noodles were just average but the pork were very hard to chew and didn’t look same as the picture on the menu.
Our latest visit here was Thursday 23/6/22, a little bit disappointed the rice served was uncooked, you can taste the hard grains which my son also noticed. They are not as fast to serve as they used before we waited for almost half an hour for our first dish to arrive. As usual at the end, you're offered some food that you might want to buy extra which I don't mind, but too late to realized I must have got ripped off for 1pc of ma-chang for $9 *********** I always wonder how she order taker remember all your orders right and not get confused when she's not taking notes? eating here is a breeze, food is served quick even when it's their peak hours.
My office is nearby so its a walking distance from us. We go regularly and the food is consistently delicious. Amongst the many Msian restaurants that I've been, I find their food the best. They have a waitress there whom we got to know and she looks after us really well Food: 5/5
Haven't been here for a long time, today we went for lunch, ordered 3 things for the 2 of us: their signature dish the fish noodle soup, a fried rice and a malay milk tea, The fried rice was pretty awful with rice lumps and theres not much meat in it. The worst is the extremely watered down milk tea. The bill is $64. So let down by the big drop in quality, wont be back anytime soon.
Quite possibly the worst Malaysian cuisine I ever had in Auckland. The mee goreng is bland and tasteless, laksa doesn't taste like laksa at all. The owner is not malaysian and the chef is not Malaysian either. Not authentic. Will never return. Avoid.
my go-to restaurant. enough portions at a reasonable price and keeps the taste yummy. Chicken satay never get bored.
Been here a frequently over the years and can say the same waitress that is there most of the time who's a middle aged women still has not learn even basic english after so many years. Please teach your waitresses basic english because it's so bad. Considering New Zealand is a diverse country with different cultures you cant expect them all to know Chinese. I asked "has the bill for this table been paid?" because a relative who i bumped into paid for my bill and told me after she left so just to double check before i leave i asked the waitress that incase. The waitress replies in mandarin when i clearly spoke english and doesn't even try to understand and just blankly stares at you, its so awkward and i ask the same question again and she does the same thing but started giving me the bill. She starts mumbling in Chinese and the other tables are staring at me because the restaurant was quiet everyone could hear. I had to go though the hassle of contacting that relative but in the end i wasn't able to contact her so I paid for the bill. Still don't know if my table was double charged and no one there bloody speaks english. They also have terrible service even though they have the most basic job in such a small restaurant. Never coming back here again
We were very disappointed with our visit this evening. Their fish noodle soup used to be my boyfriend's favourite dish, and he was absolutely thrilled that we could come back and eat it. The portion size was very big, which is worth it for the price, but there was a lack of seasoningi.e.salt. I was born and raised in China so I understand how some dishes are meant to have minimal seasoning so the natural flavour of the ingredients could pop out. Unfortunately this was not the case for the fish noodle soup as even the fish broth itself tasted bland. We also ordered fish clay pot fired tofu, it was decent, but both the portion size and the taste does not match the price. The service of the restaurant was good in that the manager/owner was very responsive and friendly. We are not picky people but if we are to be honest we would not come again based on this experience. Hope the management can make some improvements to their quality control :
Service was rude. Can't speak English. We're a big group and spent a lot dining only to be treated with a bad service. They asked us to leave just because there's another group who will dine. PLUS SHE CHARGES MORE THAN WHAT WEVE ORDERED. She said sorry for the extra charge and gave me coins as change instead. Check before you pay. Food is so-so; big servings. OUR FIRST TIME BUT NOT COMING BACK.
