Very delicious food and service really nicely. Han nan chicken on rice is the best dish we order really tasty and juicy. We will order whole chicken next time. Curry beef is tasty also. We put Gu Xing Malaysian restaurant in our lunch and dinner list the pic hannan chicken is half chicken but still enough to 3-4 people
Rang up and ordered takeaway on the way home beforehand for pick up 30 mins later. Food was ready for me when I arrived. Dining in is also an option but the carpark can be busy at dinner time. Food is tasty and good portion size. I did notice that the price on the website for ordering is more expensive, as I paid less when I ordered over the phone
Since our visit visit, we have been back 2 more times. Each time, have ordered Sambal we think one of the best in Auckland - in pur price range anyway Nice decor, reasonable service, food value, nice food, clean, parking available - for us, this will be a regular place
Had laksa and Chendol drink for lunch. Laksa gravy was alright but a weak, more watery version. No boiled egg. Just chicken bean sprouts and tofu. Mamarich laksa is still the best in Auckland. Chendol was not worth $10. Lady did warn me it’s not authentic Malaysian Chendol which I agree, interesting take but was a bit sad it wasn’t the same. Both were average and wouldn’t return for it but might try the other dishes since it smelt great in there.
Recommend marmite pork chop and hainanese chicken.Food: 5/5
Tried this place for the first time over the weekend as my partner recommended it after a few work lunches there. We ordered the Wat Dan Hor rice noodles with pork, prawn, fish tofu and egg gravy, the Salt and Pepper Fried Pork and the Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice. Of the 3, the rice noodles was the best. The portion size was good and for a reasonable price and there's plenty of variety on the menu. Only criticism was that it could have been seasoned a bit more and for the Pork dish in particular, was a little too lean and tough. Might have been cooked twice as it wasn't very hot when it came to the table, as in heat.
Not bad for a quick meal, bit pricey.Food: 4/5
I've been here a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food is pretty tasty and there's a good variety on the menu. The service was super quick, which is always a good thing. Prices aren't too bad and are about the same for similar food locally. Will probably be back at some point.
The sambal chicken is the best I have eaten. I have tried many other Malaysian restaurants and have tried their sambal. Nothing beats this one. Love the belachan they put as this is what I look for in sambal. It even beats my last favorite Malaysian restaurant so now this one has replaced them. Price was reasonable at $19.90 with rice dish
I have got a trip to Auckland and have a lunch at Gu Xiang Malaysia Restaurant base on the good rating from Google Map . The food looks good but not really taste good . The staff services is not professional. The chicken rice is below standard that the chicken is just like reheat from microwave machine with soy sauce add on separately. The E-fu noodle and the satay are also disappointed me . Just the day before I have taken another Malaysian lunch at west Auckland and definitely the food quality is much better . One reminder that you may got penalty for 1 NZD if you can’t finish your chili sauce .
