Slowlane Cafe

Visited on Monday and it was very busy. We sat outside, which was fine as there were heaters, and the cabinet food looked great.nnUnfortunately, the service was incredibly slow. It took about 10 minutes for our table to be wiped, another 10 minutes to get menus, and roughly 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Our drinks came out after the food, which was frustrating — it shouldn't take that long to make a cup of tea.nnThe waitress was friendly and kept apologising, which we appreciated, but the wait times were still excessive. We also noticed someone seated behind us, who arrived later, was served around 15 minutes before us. He was initially given the wrong meal and still received his replacement before we had been served.nnThe food itself was good, but not worth the price. I had the salmon with kimchi rice — the salmon portion was very small for $30, with only minimal additions to the rice, and it was drenched in teriyaki sauce. The burger and chips were decent.nnOverall, I think we would have enjoyed the meal a lot more if the service had been better.

We went here as we were told the coffee was good and its quiet popular. It was very busy around 1pm on a Saturday. We waited more than 10mins for our food to come out. The dishes didnt look like the photos in the Internet. The chicken was good, but not worth $17, the beef noodle salad was decent, however the beef was overcooked which made it chewy. It is expensive, its just another overpriced breakfast spot.

Absolutely loved this place! The food looks amazing and tastes just as good. Staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Takeaway coffee is really popular here the line can get long, but for dine-in there were plenty of seats and no waiting. Such a great vibe — I’ll definitely be back!

First of all, they don’t accept reservations on weekends, so expect a bit of chaos when trying to get a table compared to weekdays. This is where you can really see how different the experience can be depending on when you visit.nnWe arrived during lunchtime, so it was understandably busy. We waited to be attended to as all the staff were quite occupied, though they did try their best. I noticed, however, that table management wasn’t very organized, and they didn’t even take our phone number when we asked to be listed. I understood the rush, but it did feel a bit like they were hoping we’d give up and go elsewhere.nnWe eventually got a table and ordered the breakfast mi goreng, slow mac burger, strawberry matcha French toast, cappuccino, and flat white.nnThe mi goreng looked the part but didn’t taste like one it was missing flavor, as if they forgot to add the seasoning. The slow mac burger, on the other hand, was really good, juicy patties, and surprisingly, I even liked the pickle and I usually don’t. The French toast didn’t quite hit the mark either; it tasted more like plain bread covered in cream. The cream itself was good, though.nnOverall, it’s an okay café. It felt more like a “fast lane” experience on a weekend. Since they don’t accept reservations, getting a table can be a hit or miss, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re coming with friends or family. I can see why this café is trending on TikTok, the aesthetic is definitely there.

Food was terrific. I cant rememeber the last brunch I enjoyeded as much as diving into each and every bite of these dishes. Service was excellent and a wonderful atmosphere!nn10 out of 10 recommend
