We went following videos from social media, which raised our expectations about this cafe. What we found was an average local cafe located in Epsom.nnWe had two dishes. The Tako omurice was a bit too overpowering from the different characters of the sauce. The octopus pieces inside were quite chewy, and tasted as if it was overcooked.nnAlso we had the miso creamy mushroom udon. The flavours of cream and truffle overpowered this dish. It was lacking the taste of miso, which should give umami. It was hard to find the japanese in this dish. The texture of the noodle itself was pleasant.nnThe highlight was the black seasame latte. You could taste the nutty flavour and you could see the real grinded seasame in the drink towards the end. It was a pleasure using the teaspoon to finish this drink. And it was perfectly sweet as well.nnThe service was okay, i think having a clear means of whether to wait to be seated or finding own seats would help customers on arrival.nnIt wouldn't be a cafe that I would travel out of our way to go to, nor wait a long time as stated by other reviews.
I’ve gone to this cafe multiple times and the food never disappoints. Love the Japanese flavours and freshness of the food. the desserts are all handmade and absolutely delicious. the prices are super reasonable which is a bonus too.
My parents and I went to Pikuniku for lunch and let me tell you, the food was not only delicious but also so colorful and vibrant. They do an amazing job of combining different flavors while still staying true to authentic Japanese cuisine. We ordered the egg benedict with extra salmon and the smoked salmon soba and both dishes were a hit. The salmon tasted incredibly fresh and was cooked perfectly - not overdone at all. The restaurant itself was very clean, the staff were super friendly, and there was plenty of parking available on the street. I can't wait to go back!
I Personally enjoyed my meal here. Staff were very kind. Food was awesome, I also enjoyed My coffee. definitely will be coming back. I would recommend it as it is good for taking friends out for brekkie/brunch/lunch
Has a peaceful relaxing vibe. Food and coffee were so good. Probably up there with the best eggs benedict I have had. Service was great - very attentive and genuine.
