Scenic Hotel

Room was great size, clean and comfy bed ... Breakfast had a very good range. Location was great. So overall good experience, just a shame that the staff didn’t give the warmest welcome or departure.. a smile is worth a star!Rooms: 4/5

We stayed back in September. I was in labour and couldn't admit into the hospital until further along. We were warmly accommodated by Brendon and the manager when we arrived at 5am in the morning. The room was very clean and spacious and I felt comfortable riding off my early labour there. Thank you so much. We really appreciate your help.

Excellent, excellent stay. Rooms were clean and large. The view I had from a higher floor and harbour facing room was amazing. The tv was easy to cast to from my phone. They had a self check in which was quick and easy, but staff seemed just as eager to help. The in room dining menu was very good. Right in the city centre which was convenient. I typically prefer a firmer bed, and these beds were soft. Something to note if you prefer firm beds, but for a short stay, still good. I would easily come back.

We stayed for a night. The room was very spacious. Clean toom, clean bathroom. Kids enjoyed the stay. The bed was comfortable, we all slept soundly after a day of driving. Can see that the building itself was old, so that might need some updating soon. The only issue was parking, it being at the city centre. Be sure to book a lot when you book your reservation.

Room size: Standard twin- the rooms were spacious and clean. The carpet was a bit bumpy, maybe covering the uneven cement? I don’t know. I didn’t mind. Bed linens: soft but bed sheets were rough, they might be new, my partner did not sleep okay but we were too tired to ask for anything else. Check-in time: it was 2pm on the website and the email of confirmation we received. Arrived 10min prior to 2pm but the staff said that it should be 3pm. Our rooms were not ready until 4:30pm. We asked for a late check out which the receptionist agreed on but we still left at 10am. The staffs were apologetic and helpful with our request. It Must have been a busy week since it waa the chinese new year and noticed loads of tourists visiting the city. The hotel staff accommodated my request of pre-arranging the delivery of flowers to surprise my partner. We enjoyed and loved their buffet breakfast. One of the yummiest, healthiest and most complete continental breakfast. Overall, still a great experience.

Although not inexpensive, pretty much paying for the excellent location. Room was spacious, bed super comfy & good selection of pillows. And yes, we would stay there again. Walkability: Very central.

Great hotel in a good location. Really appreciate the professionalism of the staff on duty during my stay and cheerfully answered my longwinded questions when they were originally all working together in sending our tour group's luggages to the rooms. Rooms were well kept and clean.Rooms: 5/5

Bland exterior giving away to a great surprise package within - the staff were great, particularly Sagar. Our meal in the restaurant was excellent and the biggest surprise of all was our room. - spacious, cool decor and a great balcony with a nice city viewRooms: 5/5

Stayed in March 2024. Room with 2 queen beds is fabulous. Nice location that easy to walk around Dunedin city centre. Rooms: Large room and comfortable beds

Absolutely loved our stay here, was local to everything we needed. Staff were so lovely and accommodating. Connecting rooms worked perfectly for us. Would stay here again and recommend others to stay here. Rooms: Tidy rooms, amazing shower and was equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable. Nearby activities: We did quite alot of touristy things and was so close e.g. Larnach Castle 20 min drive, St Clair/Kilda to see the beach, Port Chalmers, Botanical Garden, Chinese Garden, Early Settlers Museum, Otago Museum, Otago Uni, Speights Brewery, Six60 Flat, Baldwin St - steepest street, Train Station, Octagon and Olveston Historic House. Walkability: Alot of things within walking distance. Food & drinks: Close to alot of eateries. Noteworthy details: Has a gym that you can use between 7am and 10pm which was convinient for us to not miss a workout.
