Cannot recommend Satya enough! Been to the K Road and Sandringham locations multiple times and they're always delicious, especially the starters. It was my parents' 25th wedding anniversary so we loved the little surprise touch they added to our experience. Lovely hosts and quick service, impressed and excited to go again.
Hidden gem in Sandringham. Food was very yummy. Perfect tea on a cold rainy day. Chicken manchurian was out of the world. Best I've ever had. Seating could be a little better but compensates with amazing food and ambiance. Will definitely go there again.
Dahi Puri - WORST! ~ instead of puri, papdi was served, which was quite terrible, rock-hard crispness. This is not how papdi feels like. Not worth the price! No taste either! Will not recommend Chicken Manchurian - Very hot Mouth-on-fire ~ extra ginger/ spices made the otherwise delicious unbelievably unbearable! They had to offer me yogurt. Couldn’t enjoy, shoved down my throat ….. Will not recommend Try at your own risk!
Ordered butter chicken 22$ hardly serves two ppl with garlic parathas which were basically store-bought parathas with garlic on it. Also ordered their hyped masala/matka chai. To be honest, it’s a below-average chai. Nothing too fancy or special about it. Bawarchi serves much better curries their butter chicken is so good and even serving size is better than Satya. Only for 22$ they give a serving size of 4 ppl. Still looking for a good chai and karak chai in Auckland Also, no where it is mentioned that they are serving halal food a logo or certificate or something??. I had to ask and they said that they are serving halal chicken.
Food was good. Seating was so uncomfortable. This was my second time, I think staff needs to be more professional and try to solve problems of customers. Heat pump wasn’t working, it felt like we are sitting outside on the road.
Butter chicken had seven sad little pieces of chicken in it which, for 22$, was a joke. Now, the good stuff. The butter chicken gravy was delicious, if you're into the sweet side of life. Their lamb korma was fantastic, and full of tender lamb. The poppadom are worth every penny and will elevate your whole experience for a mere 2$. Overall, tasty experience. However, the laughable amount of chicken will not pull us back for a second chance when there are so many other high quality options in the area.
Love this place taste like a original Indian steet food
The food was quite tasty, maybe not the best quantity ratio for the price. Unfortunately, the service wasn't the best and the glassware was dirty. We ended up being charged way more than what we ordered, we think they added more times the same items as they forgot to bring them with the main food and had to request them. More than willingly to give it another try in the future though!
This place was amazing! The guy that runs it/orders the beers was incredible - he is very knowledgeable about beers and why he likes them. The food was also unreal - super flavoursome, cannot recommend enough.
I regret going to this place this weekend for multiple reasons. 1. The food quality is the worst I have ever had in any Auckland Indian restaurant. I asked the waiter whether the parathas are made fresh and the person said Yes. However, I am very sure that it was ready to eat that we can buy from the Indian stores. We tried the rotis too and they were reheated and full of oil. 2. They boasted on the menu of fish curry, chicken curry etc. , but the curries were just a mix of coconut milk, tomato puree and the fish or meat. It was horrible. 3. The waiter was handling food with his hands. 4. The place is dirty, smells bad, and is an eyesore inside especially because it was poorly lit. 5. The quantity was less and the dishes were overpriced. They ruined what could have been a good Sunday lunch for me and my family. I will never visit them again and will also not recommend anyone else to visit them.
