I my absolute favourite salad, Vietnamese mango salad is served at Saigon in Kingsland. The restaurant is absolutely stunning in interior fit out with a Vietnamese street food style in decor. The staff is excellent and highly attentive. The fresh rolls are also delicious, fresh and herbaceous and I’m keen to try more of the menu. Highly recommended!
Dinner for five people we ordered three entrée, one salad and five mains to share. The portion is just enough for a bite eat plate but great for sharing. Cost about $35-40 per person just for food. Service was good and food was decent. Surprised at how quiet it was on a Saturday night though. Have to say the hectic Kingsland parking does not help.
Very unfortunately a few star knocked off, the latest menu was great. Would have been more enjoyable if the staff was more attentive. We felt very unwelcome, drink menu was not offered when sit-down, when we ordered the waiter shown impatient, we didn't order dessert in the middle of our main course, but the waiter insist we did, it was only 3 tables that night. It was 10% off. I rather paid full price for better service, wrong move, a bit disappointed!
Absolutely outstanding food. We've been here twice now and will come back again. Byo wine at $5 per head and great service.
Wow fantastic food, authentic and varied flavours. Really enjoyed the fresh rolls, great dipping sauce with a kick. Also the crispy beef cheeks and the lamb was fabulous. Highly recommend, we'll come again
Fantastic Waitress and the twice fried chips were above average. As for the rest - my meal was an absolute disaster! We arrived early on Saturday night - they had already run out of kingfish the only fish main course and one of the red wines. I ordered the Pork Belly And Scallops starter for $15.50 - it consisted of 2 tiny cubes of pork probably not even belly a slither of crackling and 2 undersized scallops - pretty lame looking when compared to the description on the menu. For the mains I ordered the eye fillet at $30 - as did 5 others at our table. Mine arrived last and was half the size of 4 of the other portions at our table. I asked our waitress if they had run out of eye fillet as well, and 10 minutes later this was confirmed. I was then asked if I would like to change my order and was told that this would take another 15 minutes to prepare - which meant by the time I got my main I would be the only one eating at the table. So I refused, and my plate was taken away - probably to be resold to some other unsuspecting guest. I placed an order for the chips as they were quick - at least they got that right. Surprisingly, 10 - 15 minutes later we were shocked to see 3 full size eye fillets being served to other diners!! Well that really shocked us. As a side to my eye fillet I ordered the kale slaw at $8.50. Obviously they had also run out of that because what arrived was nothing like the description on the menu. It probably came from Countdown - so that had to be sent back as well. And it was ridiculously small as well. As for the rest of the table, there was limited enjoyment. Just about everyone had finished eating their mains when the side orders of chips and veges arrived. One of my friends did not even get her side of green veges. A really poor effort from a really badly run, and expensive establishment. And no sign of the owner, or manager. Our poor waitress was left to handle the entire debacle - so hats off to her. I can't see this place lasting, and they have seen the last of 9 guests who will never go back.
We had a fantastic dinner here. Our group of 8 including 2 children all enjoyed the meal. Fabulous service and food. It was a birthday celebration so they even gave us a bottle of wine.
Been here three times for brunch. Food is good, but a bit pricey for brunch. Coffee was great on the first visit. Second time was the worst coffee I've ever had. I had it remade and it was just as bad. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and went a third time a few weeks later, coffee was just as bad unfortunately.
Food was ok not nasty, slightly disappointing more than anything. Pork belly was dry, veggies were off the menu and cocktail was watery. Spring rolls were fantastic though!
A pleasant stop for lunch. No fancy coffee sold but staff allowed me to buy from next door. A nice touch. Fresh rolls and Saigon Rolls lovely light lunch choice.
