Royal Oak Hotel

Had a fabulous meal at Tapu Royal Oak Hotel. Was pretty busy but we had very good service and our two meals were exceptional. My husband's steak was cooked to perfection and my prawn salad was so well presented by Ellen it was almost too nice to eat. Well done Royal Oak staff

Went for lunch, I had the Tapu burger and chips was so big had to eat it in two halves. Best burger I've had for years. Mrs had open steak sandwich that she thoroughly enjoyed. The chips were great as well. Needless to say we didn't need much for dinner that nightnGreat service also

For a small town pub this spot is great!nnThe bar has a wide selection of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, with a few of the tried and true beers on tap. The staff are also very friendly.nnThe restaurant is amazing! The food is well priced with very large portions. Had a table of 6 adults and an infant. 3 steak meals 1 Lamb and 3 seafood mains and everything was great. It's not often you get an up market restaurant that can cook steaks very well and for all of them to be perfectly cooked medium at a local small town pub blew my mind!nThe Lamb was tender and the seafood was perfect.nThe only small let down was the mixed vegies were frozen and not fresh.nnWe also had dessert, the mud cake was delish! Not too dense and very moistnnDefinitely stop on if you're on the coast, you won't be disappointed.

Awesome atmosphere and great staff, plenty of space and things to do and watch pool table, pokies, TAB, sky sports, restaurant, bar. Try the extreme loaded fries with pulled pork! The lamb shanks are great too, good value.

Real old worldly kiwi pub. Great food, great selection of beers, wine etc. So few of these places left - a credit to the owners... Excellent place for watching sport, etc. Great garden bar.
