Salutation Hotel

We booked a meal for 4 people. The restaurant was spacious and well presented. Staff very friendly and professional. We decided on Starter and main course. Starter was really good, the chicken breast pieces were succulent and full of flavour and the salad and aubergine went really well with the chicken, however the main course was not so good. The half Poussin lacked flavour and the potatoes which had a sauce to it was bland. Finished with coffee and were given extra biscuits for our coffee which was a nice touch.

Just back from another amazing stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff are amazing cant do enough for you. Every member reception, restaurant, bar,cleaners,spa are a credit to this hotel. The location is fantastic. Our room was lovely we stayed in the Rydal room, cant wait for our next visit. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.Rooms: 5/5

Beautiful hotel, we stayed in a spa room with hot tub on balcony which was totally private. Food was delicious and the restaurant employees couldn't do enough for you. Everything was spotless and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Situated in a good location, will definitely return.Rooms: 5/5

4.5 stars overall. Best bits: breakfast was excellent, helped by waiter Manuel who was brilliant. Pool and spa facilities were great too. Good location in middle of Ambleside. Worst bits: steak at dinner was well done rather than medium rare. Rooms were a bit small, dated and hot without aircon, though rooms in the 400s were bigger and nicer

Comfortable warm clean room. Nice food. Brilliant position in heart of Ambleside with parking and access to nice easy walks. Lovely pool and wonderful outside big jacuzzi? where you can enjoy the fresh air and gentle rain while deliciously warm and relaxed.Rooms: 4/5

We had our 25th Wedding Anniversary at this hotel and it was excellent. Stayed in room Rothay and it was fantastic. Staff, spa, breakfast, room are all 5 star. Loved seeing the staff sharing breakfast together after all their customers had been looked after. A great team at this hotel makes happy guestsRooms: 5/5

We stayed in the lovely room "Langdale" which had a private balcony overlooking the fast flowing Stock Gill. Also there was a hot tub/jacuzzi on the balcony. Expensive but worth it. Service throughout the hotel was impeccable. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and spa with it's sauna, steam room, ice room, gym and indoor and outdoor jacuzzi's. We liked that the hotel was for residents only.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location, all staff, reception, restaurant, cleaner's where friendly and pleasant. The room was more than expected, large clean and a balcony overlooking the main street. Would definitely return.Rooms: 5/5

Me and my fiancé adore this place… We have stayed here a few times now and I feel like I compare every where else to here. It is in the perfect location to get out on the hills, or even go shopping … there is plenty of great pubs and restaurants right on your door step too. Highly recommend this place!

Perfect. Staff could not be nicer. Very professional, highly trained and friendly. Totally central location, close to all amenities. Ate in the restaurant, which was excellent. Well done staff!!! You are amazing.Rooms: 5/5
